While both Rafales has LWR, it does absolutely nothing for IR and radar guided missiles as neither utilize laser and thus dont proc LWR. Whatever flaring happened, it was due to MAW or pilot manually deploying CMs.

dont know who said what, MAW however is short range when it comes to detection and as such most of your defending will be done with help of RWR.
