Which is what most of the people that have a problem with CAS want, not for the current mode to be removed but for a new mode to be added as they have just done for night battles of all things.
Having said that, even then there are still those that vehemently argue that a ground only mode should never be added even though it doesn’t detract from what is already had.

The night battle option does not affect queue times though. It just marks you as “willing to do night battles”. If enough people in queue want night battles, you get a night battle. If not, you get day. It does not put you into a different queue.
Edit: they could try to do that for cas. Maybe test it in arcade first. I just hope it doesnt accelerate the move towards CoD style maps/gameplay.

Well it’s a player base split ,it can’t not be can it ? CAS/NO CAS would just do whatever Night/No Night does or it could just red out your AC in Game like a Crew lock and the player has to make a Ground based line up
.Either way I strongly suspect it is about Gaijin not wanting to rather than not being able to.Some of the arguments Casino Knight makes about CAS equating to money are comments I have also made in different incarnations on here over the time and it’s a belief that holds water for me.I would be a hypocrite to disagree.
Premium CAS is a money maker as everybody wants a quick fix even if it actually a turkey in reality and little help at all.
Boy have I got bad news for you, because we’re already there.
Even pacifica let slip the other day that the devs vision is basically just CQB battles in small maps with tanks and everything is already almost a three lane map.
Which is a really sad development…there are a handful of acceptable maps still in the game, but they almost never show up…

I suggested a couple of years ago just throwing a load of 50 cals onto British tanks to give them a chance against the air as Gajin had clearly abandoned any resemblance to reality in game anyway.Oh the uproar.

My M163 is a perfect counter against 9.7 aircraft, don’t you think ?
Also, my 10.0 LAV-AD can’t even get a missile lock or lead indicator onto a 9.3 heli at 3.5+ km of distance, which is actually inside of heli’s maximum range.

So, What about CAP?
The most effective Anti-Air is spawning in another plane. So i spawn in my CAS aircraft, do some CAS damage, get shot down by another plane, decide that the best way to help my team now is to deal with those aircraft, I may not have SPAA or at least a decent enough SPAA, I go to spawn in a CAP aircraft, and I cant, im now blocked from being able to do that.

I suppose you have the guy in the downtier with ten kills to the next players 3 ,Sat off the Cap picking everybody off that comes near in a Tiger while those a BR below are out of ideas.That is where CAS comes in.One way or another it’s going to cause frustration for many and fun for the guy in the Tiger,
For someone to to gain a kill somebody has to die.That is always going to be the way.
Yeah, CAS can be the best solution to some problems too, I think the only issue with CAS, is the lack of truly effective SPAA at higher tiers and helis being too cheap to spawn in. Combine with actually flushing out trees so they have effective ground lines up, and you are golden. (Britain’s best assets at top tier is CAS, we dont have a great ground line up)
Couple with the fact that GRB is pretty much the only place to play Heli and you will get an influx of helis into GRB (i know thats half the reason why I pushed to get to top tier)

Top tier is a different world and in the real world it has been proven that Tanks are somewhat obsolete.If Fast Jets and Attack helicopters didn’t make the tank obsolete then drones certainly have and that could be where WarThunder has backed itself into a corner in what some obviously are seeing as a tank game(not everybody).Gaijin may trip itself up by attempting to imitate real life.Yes I can see that.
What you say about the CAS Ground relationship for the UK is interesting and relevant.I suspect for example the Wythern is in existence at 4.0 because GRB for the UK at 2-6 BR playing the UK can be truly miserable and seemingly unfair.
Bringing in the Wythern has been a revelation to at least existing as the UK in WW2 battles for many and I suspect that is why it has not been raised in BR.I could be wrong.
As others have suggested it costs money and encourages many to spend,True.
CAS seems unrelated to ground forces in a bizarre way but when Gajin cant bring balance in GRB with ground units they try and wriggle by using CAS to give a balance overall(or out of era prototypes).That is why I would recommend players fly.
I could go for Ground only but I’m sure it would reveal a catalogue of issues for Gaijin in terms of balance.

Yeah, I agree. It also doesnt touch on the fact that some nations, again, like Britain, have a huge SPAA voids that can only be filled with CAP currently. If that CAP can take a few bombs, then im going to use them.
