Ive never seen someone write something so entirely wrong before.
Time and time again you get proven wrong by multiple people yet you refuse to accept that.
Every time I’ve had dated information I adopted the new more correct information.
It might be silent adoption most of the time to not clutter the forum, but I do adopt it.
Dated information was correct at the time, but contexts can change, and of course War Thunder’s code can change changing the information.
I apologize for past me’s mistakes, especially since I have this habit of unintentionally omitting details that convey my agreement with people.
I’ll be in a discussion and it sounds like I’m disagreeing with them when I’m in full agreement, and I forget to convey that I’m in full agreement.
I’m not going to lie, there’s a touching side to having read this topic and some of the messages (just fall on it now, did’nt read the 1000+ answer…).
As a French main, I found this quote very interesting, because if that’s the case, I must admit that Gaijin is very talented at that.
But it’s not just about recent months/years.
You forget that for many many years, Germany was always among the most favored nations. The number of vehicles you got with each update was just enormous, and I stood by and watched you get handful after handful of cool vehicles, always hoping one day to see the French counterparts coming along (for example your wiesel family, we have several vehicles that could do the same thing just as cool) or just hoping they should just stop offering my tree either nothing or ONE DoA vehicle at every update.)
The number of times Gaijin has told us that they offer you more vehicles because you have more in stock (mainly for the ww2 era at the time), followed by German players mocking us with “your nation just had to build more vehicles!”. Then, as we moved more and more into the cold war/modern era, where we could finally compete with you, well, we are always lagging behind… It’s been years of resentment, really.
Yes, other nations have received your leopards and some of your top vehicles… But your leopards don’t have armor as nerfed as the Leclercs (if only it was only armors). And while almost everyone, including you, has received better APFSDS (enough to pen us anywhere you aim), France hasn’t received a single one since the first Leclerc arrived. So you still have big part immune to us.
You also received first a French heli, before us (and we start now with a worst one, to my eyes), same for VT-1 AA missile taht you never used in service, remember. And your roland (as well as the USA roland) use a French tracking radar, that we still don’t have, on top of a (bug reported years ago) ~40° max of elevation. And don’t even get me started on the DF105.
Anyway, part of me smiles at your “misfortune” (it’s not healthy, I know), because I find that the feeling you are just starting to get recently of your TT being abandoned by Gaijin (which is far from being the case to me), or your own tech going to other TTs and all that sort of thing, is what other nations (including mine) have been experiencing for many years…
But.
From someone who knows your current anger (well placed because it was your TT who stole the techs and get all the “love”, from my point of view) honestly, you have nothing to fear: Germany will always be one of Gaijin’s most successful, most profitable businesses to care, so you can be sure they’ll continue to treat you as if you were Europe’s leading military power.
Just a little example of the difference and that you still count for Gaijin: while you got a sidegrade leo, we got a downgrad Leclerc. Your sidegraded leo offered you “promise” of more leo. Our downgraded Leclerc just give us nothing.
I’m not here to add fuel to the fire, I admit I have a bad resentment that Gaijin has been stirring it up for years, but please understand that in the best case, it’s just a little break to your TTs, and in the worst case… Welcome to the club, but you are not in a bad shape. Each of your TTs can still kickass, your leo are still meta, thanks to Russia you are meta in air with Mig29 ("you could’nt build something yourself ?!") and your navy just got whats looks like an amazing ship, whils you already have some unicorn ships (with the Scharnorst as probably the best ship of the whole game).
that is an artifical nerf, the gunpods never entered service, never were installed other than a single test trial in which they never worked properly.
Innacurate modeling of the KF-41 is definitely an artificial nerf. Optics when damaged = no real damage or performance loss, the literal monitors that simply display an image being tied to a system that allows the turret to rotate and aim is a nerf and no its not a mistake at all, it was an intentional decision made by someone at gaijin. You don’t spend hours working/modeling the modules on a damage model to go “oopsie” I made a mistake months later.
There certainly is a broken number generator that throws out penetration numbers woefully under-representing the performance of small caliber armor piercing rounds. For instance .308 or 7.62mm AP rounds should penetrate 15mm at 100m, in-game gaijin has it at 13mm. This issue is only going to scale when its blatantly wrong at the smallest end of the spectrum of rounds.
so for instance If I ask a calculator to put 2 and 2 together and it spits out 3 when all other tests show its 4, its generating a random number not based on real world tests nor real world backed results, the formula is wrong and the answer is definitely wrong… its a random number plain and simple even if it consistently puts out 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 with the same input.
If youd like to complain about the treatment of the 50 people who pay for france then make a “lets talk about the treatment of france” post.
You get better helos at the top tier of your helo tree. Weve go one competant chopper and it doesnt even have a cannon.
More complaining about how the french dont have the df105, seriously you can have the amx13 105. Stop asking for our tank.
Its not just that not just that at all.
We waited not one, not two, but THREE years for a new mbt. And mbt that is DOA because of its useless increased weight that adds zero functional protection.
We had to wait after the other ‘big’ nations got their ifvs and after there was not one, not two, but THREE vehicles with the marder chassis to then only get the base apcr marder.
Not one, not two, but THREE of our paper vehicles got removed while NO OTHER VEHICLES GOT REMOVED SINCE.
Out of EVERY vehicle in the game that was ‘hard to balance’, and ‘the logical counterpart to vehicles like the e100 and is7’ ONLY THE MAUS WAS REMOVED, and not only was it removed it was turned into a rare yearly vehicle.
And not one, not two, but THREE of our top tier jets all got locked behind events before having to wait till the next update to get a tech tree version. When has that ever hapoened to another nation?
Not to mention we were just about the last to get an f4 phantom again as an event reward making it DOA when superior jets were everywhere.

While I would have worded it a bit nicer and shorter, remember that if we work together Escargot will get a better idea of what to be added if everyone comes together on a topic instead of there being of fighting between each other.

Sir, mistakes aren’t artificial, to claim they are is honestly dehumanizing.
Everyone is capable of mistakes, especially when you’re juggling ten-thousands of details, mistakes among the ten-thousands of decisions is bound to happen.
You can claim De Marre, Willi Odermatt, and whoever made the formula for APDS are wrong, but they’re physicists so good luck with that.

France is not a big nation in war thunder. Thats the simple reason why you are lower on the priority list. Theres a massive difference between france getting stuff trickled down to them and the massive german playbase being blindsided and backstabbed by gaijin.
I’m aware of that, in fact that’s what I said (perhaps poorly worded).
Basically I was almost coming to make amends and approve that it may be the case that Gaijin is using some kind of hate as the OP says, and in the end I said you have nothing to fear for the future.
Because when I see that Gaijin doesn’t give a damn about historical reality to please as many people as possible, yes, there’s resentment.
Doubt we can really cooperate. As you can see here, some of them love that they have a big playerbase so they have some better rights and treatment, and it’s normal for them, and they joke at our playerbase.
They would never trade their place for anything in the world, even if they’re criticizing it’s state now.

The Germans are definitely familiar with vehicles being taken from them, like the Pak Puma. Which is why I think being able to apply each others frustration towards Escargot to create a productive solution then it would benefit both.
Them being a big player base definitely affects income for Escargot. France being a smaller player base is definitely a sore point. But we’ve been getting treated well lately compared to usual which is why I’m actually excited to be a part of the game again.
Them also being a larger player base also means they’ll have more people that are toxic and inexperienced.

I think his point was more’so about the fact PSO is functionally a downgrade of the 2A5 (partly because Gaijin just so happened to forget it has the same armour as Strv 122 in some places, so it’s actually easier to penetrate and kill than a 2A5), y’know, the MBT that was added in March of 2019, nearly 5 years ago.
