Good luck doing this in some simulator mode, where a good radar greatly determines the effectiveness of the aircraft.
I was talking about RB.
Against smart opponents it won’t help anyway
To use the Su-27 radar covertly, it always has to be manually aimed
The ER has a cool trick called “acquiring another target” that other missiles don’t really have.
This is already the stupidity of the game, it can be called a bug
As long as its not fixed, its a feature and its been around since the addition of the ER.
These moments really irritated me.
Cool
Which it shouldn’t be using. Cope.
Technically it can, although i prefer to see Python-4’s.
Same :)
Well yea, and its the same with the MICA. The wobble is annoying but for me, it hasnt been happing all that often anymore, when the R73 first came to the game the wobble was worse, now its alot better
Fair enough.
Saying its “far easier to flare” is a lie.
Sure from some ranges and aspects it is, But a rear aspect R73 is harder to flare than a Rear aspect 9M.
Meanwhile a side aspect 9M is almost impossible to flare while its easier to do with the R73
And in a headon, the 40g thrust vectoring is a huge bonus.
The thing that really holds the R73 back is its speed. its slower off the rails than other gatewith irccm missiles like magic 2 and r27et. meaning they close the distance faster.
Under 2km tho, the speed dosnt really matter and the R73 will almost always hit. While under 2km. the 9M might not pull in time to hit
Fox-3s do that on their own. If it loses sight of its target then it tries to find it again. Sometimes it finds a different target. It does this on its own even if I’ve gone cold and dove into a canyon.
This has never been true
It is 100% true. The only thing the 9J had over the R60 was range and to be fair, the 9J dosnt have much range to begin with, the R60 did everything else better,
It pulls harder and starts pulling faster. Not to mention the seeker gimbal on the 9J used to be the same as the 9E, so a lot smaller than the R60s
I’m not really sure but I remember a time where R60 was better because I think both had the same flare sensitivity back then.
Except it kinda sucks. Its a lot better to manually re-lock someone else before they leave the radar cone of the missile.
The 9J used to pull more then it currently does and it had a better chance to avoid flares.
You could fire them from 3.5-4.5km and they would get a kill.
They had trade offs, but the R60 has always been easy to flare and is very short range.
