I’d rather see an actual in-game test than a spreadsheet… The spreadsheet also says the 7F and ER have the same range so I don’t know if its accurate.
Not sure how to set up a custom battle where I could compare the two in sensor view tbh.
I mean most SARH missiles have similar ranges the difference is in how fast they can get there and at what altitude
Same parameters the R-27ER will beat the 7F. The limitation comes down to the radar.
Same parameters aren’t even physically possible for the R-27ER because russian radars struggle to lock anything beyond 20km let alone 70km

If someone’s at altitude flying directly at you then sure but not if they’re at low altitude flying away russian cassegrain radars are absolute garbage when the target isnt flying in anything but the absolute perfect angle

Russian Cassegrain type radars have extremely bad refresh rates and despite being PD have extremely limited lock range the poor development of actually good radars for aircraft is one reason why the soviets just had massive radar stations everywhere that would relay information to pilots
Despite the bad scan rate I can still lock as far as 70km. People are just exaggerating how bad the radar actually is. Like its bad compared to NATO radars but its usable and not what people describe it to be.
Its unusable in the fact that they’re all the easiest radars to notch while being the hardest to reaquire a lock with if you lose a lock on somebody you’re only getting a lock back on in 2s the earliest usually its 4-6s either due to the refresh rate being so bad or the lock just not acquiring the target ever since ive played the Tornado F.3 its literally a night and day difference i can literally out BVR Mig-29 because of how bad their radar is
Use the all aspect PD or TWS. You might be using TWS HDN or PD HDN.
im not using HDN the radar just doesn’t pick up targets beyond 30km even with the range set to 50 it doesn’t help that the radar has a fixed search angle that cant be changed even though it should be capable of 30°x10°
HDN for long range, all aspect for closer range. I use HDN for targets beyond 40km.
