Last stand of Air Realistic Battles

Removing red “idiotmode” (aka Arcade) markers, spreading out ground units on maps, and 1h time limits would encourage things naturally without need for respawns, frankly.

Some nations would get stacked lineups while others are barebones & suffering, just like Ground/Naval have - do we really want more of that?

we have in the past, we still have today with some events requiring bombing time.

Personally I think Simulator’s method of implementing CAS is far superior in regards to modes with tanks, but that is very much off topic for this thread.

what kind of events require bombing time, its literally just score now
only thing you need to bomb for is skins on some bombers

and how low skill players are making a lot of score nowadays?

ah yes,… by taking a F-4 Phantom (fast plane) with a full load of bombs.
F-4 with full bombs, something like this (3x2000lbs+6x1000lbs =12000lbs)

(or the variants with 24x500lbs bombs // 13x1000lbs bombs)

but that’s not only the F-4,… it’s every aircraft with large bomb payloads, and fast speed.
we have the same with premiums F-5C, or Squadron A-4E for secondaries exemple.

you can even find some F-18C’s (“initial” ones) doing the same thing, because they bought an aircraft but don’t know how to fight otherwise,…

what

It’d be a one more incentive to add more vehicles.
Limiting respawns to 2 or 3 could help with this as well.

Not at all what I said. Broadly reached player consensus is fine and there’s plenty of examples of such existing. Like additional BR decompression, futher economy improvements, more tech tree vehicles than premium vehicles with new updates. What I don’t want near such power is someone who makes money off making War Thunder content who already gets special privileges being a partner with and says “it’s okay to ruin one aircraft for the sake of others” when they dont just mean one, they mean dozens they don’t like.

I am actually interested why you participate in this debate.

Why?

From my pov you have zero passion for Air RB - otherwise you would have played the mode. According to statshark you scored 12 air kills in total in the last 6 months - all in Ground vehicles.

From my pov you are a Ground RB main either just trolling or you are a hidden fan of Air RB trying to have a kind of “coming out”.

If i see such things:

it looks like trolling.

I mean this argumentation is nonsense from multiple aspects. Why?

  1. Tank players are lousy pilots - thx to the abysmal low economy in Ground RB the overwhelming majority of good / better than average pilots has zero incentive to play there.
  2. Tank players have to play a tank first before they can use a plane and this doesn’t sound fair to them is a joke. These reta…players have aircraft as power up to score cheap kills vs more or less helpless ground units if they are not good enough to kill them whilst using a tank.
  3. What options for CAS players?? It make zero difference if Ground RB players use a strike aircraft or a fighter - they will always be clapped by pure pilots. Their unwillingness to learn or improve created the sad state of Air RB - simply because they are so many and are willing to invest money.

See above - what kind of interesting and longer games do you expect?? (Rhetorical question)

Multi spawn just imports this ODL, spawn camping and other Ground RB nonsense into Air RB - just think more than 5 seconds about it.

To be fair I tried the US f18C Early with a good friend’s account, and it’s frankly mid at best, the aim9L’s are very good in an ambush playstyle but I found the AIM7P’s worthless in furballs, its an excellent dogfighter though (not that it matters much at these BR’s). You need to be good to use the F18 well, it’s not easy to fly, especially in uptiers.

So I can understand why some might give up and use it like a bombing truck.

all described there
7P’s never were meant for Furball fight,… but don’t worry - you’re not the first to make the mistake.

by the way, i’ve never seen any AIM-7’s outside of AIM-7P to be able to turn 90° to target me after it was relocking from the decoy,…
i’ve been surprised more than once,…
Decoyed missile, that relocks to kill after 7-12km distance,…

and let’s be honest,… the F-18A should be 12.7 already,… similar missile kit than F-16AJ, with more missiles
F-18C initials should be 13.0,… but premium you know,…

at the same 12.3BR of F-18A, there is the F-4EJ Kai, with 9L and 7F (not even 7M), which have the maneuvrability of a F-4C, coupled with F-16A radar → a flying brick.

oh i wasn’t using them in cluttered areas, I’m aware of their nasty little tendency to chase after friendlies sometimes, my main gripe with them is how slow they are.

What really surprised me though is how good aim9L’s are for long range sneak attacks and side aspect shots, I had like 5 games in the thing and most kills I got were either guns or 9L’s, most aim7P’s i tried were either notched, didnt track for some reason or just missed because theyre too slow.

all AIM-7’s are Mach4 at top speed, but it still needs to gain such speed. (also,… the lower you’re the shorter the range)

Maybe, but their impulse is much longer so they take much longer to get to speed than other radar missiles found at the same BR’s.

I didnt play low, my friends are experienced and told me to fly as high as I could to control the boards and gain position.

try to use Super 530F/D,… those are very long to speed up.

oh, those are french missiles right? I’m not there yet, I guess I’ll compare once I get a mirage or something.

Peak gameplay where attackers get to be relevant. (You lose the game.)
