No one said that there’s no compression.
Evidence of compression has not been shown was the statement; a statement about wanting evidence.
Last time I played 5.7 air my analysis showed no disparity between 5.7s present in any notable manner personally, but I could’ve missed one aircraft.
Especially if the “Spitfire LF Mk9 over-performing climb rate” claims are true and get acted on.
Maybe CCs are not the way to go forward. I don’t have a real good solution for balancing but there is not much we can chose that would be worse than what Gaijin is doing.
Can they just decompress 9.0-10.7 already? It wouldn’t even take much time compared to adding new content for the mode. It’s still ridiculous that in a single step uptier my p16 is pretty much outclassed in every way by the ariete besides 2 aim9 making it impossible for me to survive. There’s also the f4d which at the SAME RATING which is way better than me.
Let’s not forget them putting more and more planes with flares and r60/9j/p at 10.3 making it impossible to do anything vs them almost. These should be 0.7 away from the best no flare planes minimum being the mirage 3c and the j35d.
Side note: What they really need is to make bombers/attackers more tied to winning the match and make it worthwhile to protect them. Currently destroyed bases/ai don’t impact the ticket score of a team much. Double, even triple the ticket value of what they are currently. I don’t really think its necessary for a sole bomber mode with this easy changing of a sole number in code.
AIR SIM IS 1000x better gameplay than AIR RB and it hasn’t changed in years. The rewards suck but it has so much potential. Strike Aircraft can actually do their job killing ground targets and ATGMs have a use outside of GROUND RB
All I know is the last time I checked for realShatter on MG151 was early this year during a similar conversation when the Soviet 3 vehicle pack was added where that had realShatter on while the MG151 on planes had it disabled still.
Of course, I didn’t think to save that file cause foresight on these discussions is not something I’m good at.
It’s weird because I was fully expecting it to be true, just got curious and had to see for myself. Based on others’ feedback (and my own experience), Mg151 damage did change compared to a few weeks’ ago so now I’m just plain confused :v.
Could be flight models were updated, or some other information about the planes in another document to make sure realShatter was finally activated on them.
The HE bug could’ve been fixed that was bug reported near the start of the June major update.
To be fair to the developers, i had thought the devs were 100% out of touch with the air rb community but then they had that strategic bombing event earlier this year with the f4’s and mig-21s and that event was kinda spot on with what we were asking for.
ground rb spotting mechanics for air
multiple respawns
objective based game mode
It certainly wasn’t perfect but it was an event that really showed that the developers were somewhat listening to the community.
Id imagine objectives similar to this event could probably be integrated into Sim EC or a potential future RB EC but we’ll see.
Early this year, the devs did release a statement saying that they were looking into adding some form of RB EC. The way they mentioned it sounded like RB EC may only be for weekends which would kinda suck but i guess it would be better than nothing.
Im hoping they give us an update on this soon. It gave me some hope that the devs understand our grievances.
I think the SEAD event was, despite all of its flaws, the most fun I had in war thunder in a LOOOOOOONG while
So I would like those types of objectives. Convoys, contested airspaces, SEAD objectives, smaller teams for high & top tier to promote team play, and probably a “no indicator” gamemode
same thought (plus had times in Harrier GR.7), but still some people like to PVP other player that isn’t interested on dogfighting one another (it is damn annoying every single time I want to strike assault units or convoys someone in red team always intercepts or even camping the same grid square) unless you can set Sim server to have no PVP mode
and those same enemy always the one that has highest pvp air kill scores
I don’t think the SEAD event was that fun, mainly because the air defenses themselves added very little to gameplay, it was mainly a “who can spot the enemy first?” kind of exercise.
I do think that the front line in the middle of the map in ARB is completely outdated. If, for example, there was a wall of really agressive AI SPAA units that completely blocked enemy planes and most missiles from passing through instead of a mainly irrelevant frontline of optional targets, then you wouldn´t be able to simply fly forwards, lob a missile and maybe get a kill (it would be intercepted), and you would be forced to rely on either sideclimbing/really high altitude to go around the AA wall, or rely on friendly strike aircraft being able to destroy a few of the SPAA units and open a breach on the wall, or rely on protecting friendly AI bombers that after some time would be able to take down the SPAA.
In short, i think the players have too little influence in how the maps play out, so giving them some options to change the dynamic would naturally make the game more interesting.
This is all great, but unfortunately it does not matter, because Gaijin as a company has proven they do not care about their product anymore. Ground RB has ended up in the same state as ARB. I was originally a top tier ARB player, but ever since ARH missiles were introduced I quit ARB for GRB, and now that has become just as frustrating to play.
GRB is arguably even more flawed, and it comes down to things as simple as why am I playing my Type 10 on a World War 2 map. That should not be happening in a game that calls itself “realistic.” It kills immersion and highlights how disconnected the design choices have become.
The bigger issue is that Gaijin only reacts when there is enough backlash, never because they are genuinely invested in improving the game. That is why ARB is where it is, and why GRB is quickly following the same path. They do not make changes out of vision or care, only out of pressure.
Until that changes, until the developer starts caring about the actual health of the game instead of short-term profit and damage control, both ARB and GRB will continue to feel abandoned.
It’s been said for years now. Enduring Confrontation is the game mode that answers virtually every question regarding dynamic gameplay and the role of bombers and attackers, while still keeping fighters relevant. There are dedicated ground bases and modular airfields to bomb, convoys to destroy, front line battles with ground units that control a dynamic front line. Heck, in the last major update, they raised the ticket impact of bombing in Air Sim, so matches are over faster. Bombing is the primary way to win. Heck, sim even has a server browser, so we can see what matches are available. This neatly eliminates any kind of wait time.
The mode is right there and ready to go, so why on earth aren’t they using it?
