Pretty much. I’d personally call for complete replacement of the existing mode with EC, swap out the AI ground units in EC back to the classic Air AI they were in years prior, and then continue developing that.

I did not say it was 10.3 because of the missiles I was merely stating that it only had 2 AIM 9E when it was 10.3 when now at 9.7 it has access to 4 significantly better AIM 9P’s which if you’re in a down tier is effectively a free 4k.

Yes, my point was these were added and Gaijin did not sufficiently compensate their increase in lethality/survivability in BR increase, so the planes that were up there for a reason were moved down as if they wouldn’t dunk on the 8.3-8.7 planes that previously could never see them and this keeps going on down the BR’s.

So it not just that the T2 should go back up where in belongs but literally everything above and around it would be going up as well, the T2 is merely the most effective example to use because it’s one of the only planes that’s become more powerful yet gone down from the BR it had to be moved to because it was so powerful before.

This is an encouraging sign, but said mode will be almost meaningless unless destroying said objectives is the only way to win.

As I have said for years - bombers & attackers are PvE aircraft, and PvE aircraft cannot ever seriously matter in a game mode that allows victory solely by PvP action. PvP is not inherently bad, and the reverse situation which still occasionally exists in low tiers (a single He-111 H-3 can bomb out all 3 bases and the runway by itself with incendiary bombs, yes I am serious, tested it myself) is just as silly.

It’s disappointing this is only for a 2 day event. I hoped it would make its way to ARB

Its pretty boring and not really dynamic over time. The biggest reason, why me and other people still play it daily, is because we can play our favorite planes perfectly modeled and decently realistic displayed. Missile kills and dogfights are fun. But I agree, we need other game modes, better maps (I actually like falklands a lot, which came out a few months ago) and higher top tiers.

Gamemode monotony and lack of objectives besides team deathmatch aside, I just find it ridiculous how bad the BR compression and balance is. It’s like ever since supersonics were added all those years ago, Gaijin simply use a BR dartboard to decide where certain aircraft belong:

Tu-4 at 8.0 and facing AAMs nearly every game?
Swift F.1/7 at 8.3/8.7?
MiG-15/F-86A at 8.0???
Phantom FGR.2(UK) at 12.0?!?!??!?!
MiG-21S at 9.7 - this airframe should never be below 10.3. Period.
F-104A/C at 9.3 - can’t even be caught in a full uptier

…many more. There is simply no excuse for not being able to do something as (presumably) simple as going into the game code and changing a single number.

Defyn is not the best option for this, more Tim Variety he is more informed about ARB and Ground RB.

Having CCs decide the future of the game would be terrible. The vast majority of CCs are absolute buns at the game, it doesn’t take skill in wt to be skilled at growing a channel. Also what about stuff like gun damage? HE being broken for this long has been one of the biggest issues I’ve had with the game as of recent

Yeah idk about the CC idea anymore at this point to be honest. It could work with a select few skilled and knowledgeable CCs but electing those as advisors would probably be impossible if every player had their say. Limiting the voting power to a certain group of players would also probably not work as it would create chaos in the community. If it were up to me I would certainly hard limit who can vote. The fact that people who don’t even play GRB could vote on the APHE test is baffling. Limiting the voting power to “good” players that actually play the game would probably be really unpopular since most players aren’t “good”. And yes before anyone else asks, no the average player is not capable and thus should not have any say in the balancing of the game.

I deliberately didn’t mention any bugs. Yes it’s ruining prop tiers but the consensus on the issue is pretty clear since it’s obviously not working correctly. I gave Gaijin the benefit of the doubt that they would fix objectively broken things in the game. Given that they didn’t I have little hope for any subjective (read not bug fixes) changes to be made.

Most people are commenting about the CC thing. I would really like to see what you and others think about the rest of the post. The CC thing is just a tiny part of it.

don’t forget that most of them lack the perspective of a regular player - they GE the mods and play with maxxed crew skills

not only that, some of them are absolute brainlets that just spread misinformation non stop

tbf vehicles should not be balanced around their non spaded state.

I don’t think I have been clear about this in the original post even though it’s in the same section. I only wanted CCs to advise on the balancing. Not game mechanics. Not the grind. Not future additions or anything like that.

true, but there is definitely not enough stink being raised about the stock modules/crews, which is what the CC’s usually ignore

honestly? solid post! personally, i would love to see longer matches and better (more) gamemodes, the current TDM gets incredibly boring

something like dedicated escort/intercept objectives could really shake up the gameplay in a good way, like making strike aircraft actually valuable (make destroying bases actually do something), making fighters do fighter things (and let them go multirole if there are no strikers)

but anything would be good at this point, ANYTHING that is different from the same 16v16 brainless furballing and missile spam

I agree. I did talk a bit about that in my other thread I linked. I didn’t want to fragment this discussion too much. You’ll notice I didn’t name any planes that would need rebalancing either since that would just devolve the thread into a warzone about those planes.

Np for the feedback, since you want some more input on the rest of the post there’s a few more things I disagree with. It’s mainly the purpose of bomber aircraft as well as the rewards people get from matches. I’m gonna be real rewards aren’t that much of an issue, sl gain could be improved a little bit to match up more with rp but overall they’re pretty decent as long as you don’t suck absolutely horrid at the game. The gripe I do have with rewards is that I can get a 4 kill game and an 8 kill game and the rewards will vary by like 25%, the dropoff makes it very unrewarding to attempt to high frag. Also for the use of bombers in matches I’m gonna be real 99.9% of air players don’t play bombers for fun, I don’t think they should be removed from the game but I really don’t see how they could be changed to make them actually needed without making everything else an absolutely chore for people playing fighters, like making them needed to end matches when you might have lost all of them, whoever climbs the highest and gets to the bombers first is just gonna automatically win. Anyways that’s kinda it for my take on that, also the making multiple respawns thing in air rb is a really bad idea, having people spawn in with drastically less altitude and speed just leads to them getting killed faster.

I am not sure if we have different things in mind when it comes to what the changed/new mode would look like but when I read the issues you find it it doesn’t match with what I imagine.

I think we need some sort of custom mission that people can play instead of just reading words here on the forum. Problem is I have very little experience with the CDK and not a lot of free time in the near future to learn it. I tried last year but it’s a lot.

Would you playtest it if we manage to make a custom mission implementing the vision?

Yeah and also rewards. Idk if there’s anything we can do about that. I omitted reward talk on purpose as it’s not directly related to the gamemode and because I don’t think Gaijin will do anything to them.

yeah I’d playtest it, I’m gonna be honest though there will probably be a lot of people in the playtest that might end up wanting to guide it in the wrong direction because they want it to pertain to their skill issues. Btw if you want to contact me easier my disc is tofulikesbread
