Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 3)

From what I understand. Tornado ADV was only ever meant to be a stop-gap but then when it started costing too much money to get it working, rather than calling it quits and admitting defeat, they just doubled down. Why also the FA2 was scrapped so early. Despite arguably being the better platform.

Though, Tornado F3 was fine, the issue is the WT context. It was meant for a squadron flying in formation slamming with BVRs.

Does anyone know what’s happened with that missile data chart? It said that it’s been delete

no i think it was just taking too long could be wrong

Btw what happened to Legwolf did he get a nuking ?

maybe i remember someone getting in a flame war

Dont think so, think he can just be busy with work

He was active on British threads yesterday and put this out the other day

Odd as he is the last person who would get a ban for that

It was supposed to be a stopgap for our limited budget, so we could finish EFT (which overran).

We also were very, very interested in buying Iran’s F-14s but then they had their little revolution and it went tits up.

There’s also the Hawker HS.1202 which would have been essentially a British F-16 but god-ugly as many British aircraft are.

I am still salty about the BAe EAP being off the table, why couldn’t we have just strapped live SKYFLASH’s to it so we could have an EAP in-game.

Ah just that he was pretty active on here

The thing is, we could already be in a situation where all nations are competitive. People could be asking for better gameplay, instead they all are just whining that they can’t fly F-22 Raptors or some other way too recent fighter yet

We’ve gone past the point of needing some major overhauls long ago, but instead of making the game better for everyone by working on a more engaging gameplay loop with more engaging targets we are still playing a glorified team deathmatch as “Air Realistic Battles” with increasingly modern aircraft that wouldnt be used in such settings

maybe mistaken it for a different brit main

Its also worth remembering that we are nearing ASRAAM chronologically as well. So we should be rocking those on a few aircraft BEFORE EFT gets here, but likelyhood is no Gen 5 IRs for at least a year+

i would be happy and suprised if i get the Aim 9L(I) finaly

aussie f18 used them :)

Yeah… They’d be nice on a few things

I would be happier if we could go back to smaller lobbies as those IRCCM missiles are real party poopers

Unless the Mirage 2000D RMV w/ it 's 2x MICA IR 's comes to bridge France 's gap between SARH and supermanouverable MR-ARH - we’ve seen components of the plane in the files and the missile leaked.

Though that would be a niche case and I dont think quite as good as ASRAAM/IRIS-T/Aim-9X

Sure some are asking for Gen 5s and beyond and that’s a bit much for technical reasons. However, there’s nothing wrong with wanting things. US/RU do it all the time and they keep getting it. Like do we really need the F-111? Absolutely not, but it sells.

What you need to understand is getting new top tier for minor nations is making the game better. Imagine if Japan didn’t get the F-16AJ, would you be okay with them stuck at Gen 3 uptiered to fight Mig 29s/F-16s right now? They’ll never be top dogs, so no amount of decompression will help it.

Like I agree with you that things need to be reworked and expanded in top tier, but Gaijin is doing that. We just had RWR mechanic expanded which is huge, especially in ground RB. At the end of the day though we need to rush into the modern era and let people have their toys. Once there’s little for Gaijin to add, there’s more time for them to update the game modes/maps/mechanics to keep the game fresh.

Japan has the F-2, which fielded the first AESA for service. So they’ll have their day to shine hopefully.
