Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 3)

Player base should demand Air EC for the next roadmap…

No they should demand a new nation :P

EC could be such a game changer, literally. With serious effort it could kill the competition completely. But they just refuse to acknowledge its even a gamemode half the time

At least give it to us in a weekly rotation and i’ll be happy

The unfortunate reality is also the gameplay we have is what people want. I’ve heard numerous complaints to people wanting to not waste time climbing or spreading out and that they just want to get into the action, even opting to delete having to take off and just air spawn.

Maybe, but if I’m being realistic, I don’t think F-2 will come initially with full AESA. Or AESA will not be OP or work in such a fashion that it will be a game changer. When even games like DCS don’t have AESA (afaik), how do we think Gaijin will handle it? Knowing that they simplify things for a balance between realism and gameplay.

Just my two cents, but I think everyone needs to remember that a “mobile bunker” can’t just be a Maus repeat, pound for pound at tier. It has to be destructible on some level, and be hampered somehow. So I don’t think mobility is going to change much if the rest of the tank’s armor gets buffed. It’s also going to need to have a breach vulnerability like everyone else. All of these too will be done while remaining balanced for gameplay.

Good post, but people need to temper their expectations.

Looks at T-80BVM

Maybe… But it doesnt also need to be so brutally handicapped that its almost maybe unplayable. There isnt a single component on the CR2 that isnt weaker than its IRL version. Even the MG on the roof. All 5 could easily run 12.7mm HMG. But only the CR2E has that, the rest have 7.62mm. WHY!?

As I’ve said, we already are past the point of needing gameplay reworks, I’d say the introduction of PD started it and with the addition of the Phoenix and R-27ER it is becoming painfully obvious that the classic ARB approach doesn’t fit the aircraft capabilities

It’s a shame arcade is as wacky as it is, because arcade maps and airspawns, but with realistic flight models would probably be just right for those people
The arcade style maps would be much better for modern aircraft anyways, they would just have to be bigger than they currently are

Relikt is just that good, and I’m going to stand by that. In return, thus far, all well armored 10.0+ Russian MBT’s have hampered mobility.

But yeah MG’s are frustrating. The only thing I have to say is they usually bring a 0.3 BR uptier, so some of those variants might be better at 7.62mm.

Part of the why is that to some degree, Gaijin tries to keep the composition of the tank to what it deploys with under doctrine etc.

It’s a balance for sure.

Yeah, though none of the western shells designed to pen that ERA are actually modeled to pen it. Perforation would nerf that ERA a lot.

and wester era doesn’t work as well in game

It’s hard to know for sure. DM53 and A4 should be able to pen Relikt, but not much if anything is known to how well it can.

A2 can’t. DM33 and 43 can’t.

ERA and shells aren’t modelled either. Everything is formulaic, not physics. For example: shell = pen value of 400mm, armor type = 60% pen multiplier, effective pen value of shell vs armor type (400M*.6) = 240mm. Then it actually checks penetration vs the rest of the armor based on the value changes.

IMO, this is why NERA sucks in game. It doesn’t use real physics, just an arbitrary number to determine penetration.

In fairness, I don’t think anyone’s computer could really model the penetration as those high polygonal simulations can take days to process. Not sure you could even half-ass it into the game without destroying performance.

it leaves us with nera that could get shredded by rpgs

Prehaps, but if balance was their goal. Then you could artifically drop the numbers down on the T-80. Though it has been a recent discussion the L27A1. Might potentially have something in the region of 600-700mm pen not hte current 500 ish it has currently (off the top of my head)

And that’s my problem with the whole issue on both sides of the equation. It’s all a bit reductionist, once again, a compromise, which unfortunately, is probably necessary.

560, but still the lowest pen round out of all top tier rounds

I have no issue with a compromise (though that is no excuse for that compromise to not be clearly communicated in the same way they did with the AAMs on the J8-F)

But its just the degree of problems and inaccuracies, and the list just seems to get longer far faster than it gets shorter.

Even really basic stuff, like shell locations, crew positions, etc arent even modeled correctly, which is just insane

As the Breda 90/53 got HE-TF rounds, ill try with the HE-TF rounds for the QF 3.7 Ram again…

As a user of the QF 3.7 Ram. that would be helpful. And last I checked it was built as an AA piece. And should be able to use all the shells the Towed AA the cannon that is mounted used.
