Kings of Battle - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 2)

Imagine SB games where you spawn either in a hanger or inside the aircraft carrier and get lifted up onto the deck

Now that would be cool, not even DCS has that feature i think

When it comes to the QE carriers. I think they did a good job of future proofing themselves, without massively wasting any money. They are going to serve us well for a while (and I use to work in a pub at the mouth of Portsmouth harbour. Use to pass by so close the Wash would flood the beer garden. Was awesome to see)

Everything is overtier in France x)

That’s what happen when BR/repair cost are not from vehicle capability but players stats…

Yeah, that would be cool. Maybe a little annyoing at times, spawn and then spend X minutes waiting to take off. but even just having the ability to fold your wings would just look cool.

CATOBAR is love, CATOBAR is life :p

Yeah i live basically right across from rosyth dockyard so ive seen them get built almost from the get-go, they seem to be increasibly versatile for any potential refits we will give them

Didnt the invincible class go through several refits for its bow air defence, going from sea dart to goalkeeper to having none

Probably sounds like something they would do

I think QE was designed to have enough power gen for DEWS as well

So, I can’t find anything about whether or not regular F/A-18s could take off using the ramp, but the Super Hornets were tested for that to see if the Indian Navy could operate them on their carriers

Sad you don’t use CATOBAR on your last CVs, you could have come and had fun with us

Résumé

Just need to hope in future we have a large enough navy to protect them, the Type 31s lack anything reasonable for escorting, the type 26s will be spread thinly and the Type 83s will probably be equal in number or less than the type 45s

The charles de gualle is definitely one of my favourite aircraft carriers right now, it manages to carry a good amount of aircraft whilst being smaller and more equiped than the QE

Can be added pretty easily if ever needed, but STOVL is just better for us at hte moment, and one of the carriers primary roles is humanitarian aid, so helis are also a core part of our airforce. Now of course there was suppose to be 3 carriers that made up that humanitarian relief fleet, Britain built their 2, but some nation on the other side of the channel never built theirs…

Yeah, but thats kinda the point of NATO. We’ll make up the core of a taskforce, and other nations will fill in the gaps. Running Carriers is expensive, but surface ships to help escort, not too bad

Folding wings are implemented right now, just unused

Starting from here: ( [Development][Development] Sea Venom FAW.20: Two-seat Jet-Fighter - News - War Thunder )

I think the difference between a ship having Harriers FA.2/Gr.7/9 at best compared to one operating a ( greater number of ) MiG-29SMT sidegrades would be sharply distinct, esp. considering their chronological counterpart ships.

That was not the CdG on this video ^^ but glad you like it :D

The next CV for France should be ready for 2036, not tommorrow xD

The only problem is we cant even form one full CSG normally, last time i checked we only had 3 of 6 type 45s active with the rest in refit, to really protect carriers you want 4 AD ships for each direction, plus QE doesnt have any air defence other than a few phallanx’s

And it looks like argentina is getting back up to scratch militarily so we may have some interests down there we want to protect cough

Eh, just give britain some Aussie Super Hornets and its no longer a real problem, just a small gap

Damn i just saw the name Rafale in the title and automatically thought of the CdG sorry, its still a sexy ship tho

Insert sad noises here

I think its entirely going to depend on what naval looks like, If they truly modeled aircraft carriers by their capacity, then no point playing any nation other than US.

Quality of aircraft is always a debate, but that can be balanced via other means

Though I do hope for the Russian carriers they remember to model the tug
