Ki-162 would this be a problem if added?

Yes we all know Japan never got to make one, and it is unlikely they ever would but here is a question for all of you would you had a issue with it being added? Also if the answer is yes would you prefer it as a skin for He-162 or as a Japanese premium/event vehicle?

  • Would love to see it added as a premium or event vehicle
  • Better just make it as a fun skin for the He-162
  • No god! Please No!!! Nooooooooooooooo!!!

I am against vehicles that were never made to be added to the game, so it’s a no for me

I hate copy slopping, but there’s a good chance it’ll be added simply cause it’s Japanese. We already got the R2Y2 and Ho-ri.

They deleted the R2Y2 from the tree, new players have so few Japanese jet aircraft to pick from these days…

I personally think since the only option people here seems to be somewhat cool with the safest bet is, either a skin for the existing He-162s or adding a Japanese He-162 as a premium just to have something at the lower rank of Japanese jets…

Sadly the Ki-162 is most likely a post war “what if” invention and not a WWII Japanese design.

The real Japanese aircraft based on the He-162 never went past the design stage. I couldn’t even find what it would’ve been, so even saying if it would have been a new aircraft or license production would be speculation.

Now if it’s Japanese WWII aircraft you want, the J8M1 or Ki-201 could still be added instead. Maybe a Kikka Prototype but that would be a bomber only and might sit lower in BR.
For post war options there’s also the T-1 and XT-4, or the licensed T-33A and the single bought Vampire T.55.

I agree it is very unlikely that the dang thing was ever shipped to Japan, however that doesn’t make it impossible that they would have tried or did try.

So based on most people here the only non-offensive way the jet could be added is as a skin for a he-162, so let’s pretend for a moment Japan did get one? They would likely painted it like a Ki-162 and evaluate it but at the end of the day never make them since the production of engines stalled the Ki-201 and the J7W2s development.

Honestly my main issue is that we don’t even know what it was. For example the difference between the J8M/Ki-200 to Me-163 or even Ki-201 to Me-262.

So with the “Ki-162” (not a real name, but there is no known one) it’s possible it would’ve been just as different and we wouldn’t know. Gaijin could add an aircraft based on it or just a copy of the He-162, but that wouldn’t be a historic aircraft anymore and instead made up by Gaijin.

This is why I generally prefer the cutoff that’s used for suggestions as “unfinished prototype” that basically says that the minimum requirements is a vehicle specific component needs to be made. That way we can get interesting projects that for whatever reasons might not have been completed, for example something like a Ki-91 that was bombed before it could be completed, but also gives a clear line so there won’t be issues with vehicles that would need to be mostly made up.
