I’d consider the Su-27 a special case, due to the ERs which give it ARH-like performance at longer ranges. You’re less easily shut down by ARH jousting, since their window for forcing you into a notch is much shorter than with more average SARHs like Sparrows. Plus the ERs give it early game pressure, unlike other SARH slingers which have to close to ~10km to be a legitimate threat to anyone.
I also wouldn’t consider multipathing a consistent counter. It’s harder to do in larger, clumsier jets like the F-15 and Su-27, and it doesn’t work against ARHs fired from above you. It’s certainly an option, but not something I’d rely on to universally counter ARHs.
Plus, you also have to consider Fakour 90s (And, more uncommonly, AIM-54s), which have enough of a warhead behind them that they’ll probably still kill you with splash damage even if you multipath them.
Awareness
Being able to spot people near instantly with nctr is a significant advantage compared to a mechanical radar that struggles to keep a soft-lock on one person, let along many.
While not having nctr
They are either coming from one direction in which case whats the matter with defending against them, or they are all coming from different directions which is positioning issue which is hardly the planes fault.
Yeeeah Even using proper evasion tactics you can’t dodge all 5 of them when you run out of energy from dodging the previous ones, they don’t all come at the same time you know, there are intervals like 3-8 seconds between them

The interval isnt important, its the direction.
And they either come fromm one direction in which case you notch them all the same or from multiple directions in which case you bordked your positioning
So you guys are saying it’s my fault that someone decided to flank and even when i’m 90 degrees from the missile and chaff it doesn’t always stay on the chaff even when i change altitudes or change directions so what kind of magic do you people use to be able to dodge all ARHs,
I can dodge the first 3 at least , The RWR on the F2’s perfectly show you the direction of the missiles so it’s easier to get that perpendicular angle
You have the 2nd best radar at 13.0 (maybe even the entire bracket of 12.0-14.0), good FM and defensive loadout
It probably is a mistake on your part that led to the enemy flanking you
As for your notch not working, you most likely just made a mistake when trying to notch.
Common mistakes are not hitting the notch angle and getting angle-gated
I understand the Human error and skill issue but sometimes enemies just sling their ARH from 40 KM away and start notching so not much i could do in that case, and if I’m facing the flanker than the other planes just Dump their ARHs in my direction.
and yes even tho i’m complaining i still manage to get 2-4 kill in most games but it’s just very annoying and then you press tab in the middle of the game and your team has 3 people alive including you and the enemy still has 9+ planes alive chasing after you slinging their remaining 4 more ARHs each…
