Protection analysis for aircraft is weird and most of the time useless.
They’re still stronger than 7.7s or .50cals but when compared to other 20s they are very weak. I used to love the Type 99 when playing the Zero or J2M but the ballistics feel very different and the damage got nerfed hard during and after realshatter.
They feel weak when compared to other 30s but they still do enough damage to cripple aircraft in a single shot/burst unlike the 20s.
Will try them next time I play some Jap planes. In the past universal was just straight up worse than tracers thanks to having only 3/4 HE to deal damage while tracers had less filler but had 4/4 HE rounds. The difference between HEF and HET might be bigger now that could be a reason for the ridiculously low damage.
That’s my problem with the Tracers belt, the HEF-T used to be great but now feels very lackluster. That being said the Universal belt isn’t fantastic either as due to the low gun RoF you’ll sometimes get unlucky and only hit with API.
As someone who’s had the J6K1 since it came out in the Winter Event, I am very disappointed in how high the BR is. The climb rate sucks, the rudder sucks, the speed sucks, and it compresses to hell in a dive. Only decent thing is the turn rate and of course the phenomenal armament.
It should not be at 6.7. You cannot catch up to any jets and you can’t dive on them. Most players have the braincells to not engage in a turn fight with a prop fighter, let a lone a Japanese one. Any other enemy props you are facing are likely to outperform you (Mk 24, Bearcat, P-51H). Keep in mind that Gaijin nerfed this plane after the Winter Event. It needs a BR decrease, or a performance buff. I’m glad most people here are in agreement, save for one certain fool who doesn’t seem to read beyond stat cards.
Instead of taking the pure performance of an aircraft, which can be skewed by being played by more or less skilled players, it should be compared to each of those players average performance before being fed into their statistics.
This way a good player doing a K/D of 2 is still seen as below average when their average is closer to 3, and a bad player with a K/D of 0.5 who usually only gets 0.2 is seen as above average. While I believe Gaijin uses average reward rather than K/D, I don’t know what rewards they are aiming for and this was easier to explain.
Basically, a good player should naturally get higher rewards, and planes mostly flown by good players should not be higher in BR because of it. Mainly since should a bad player try to play those vehicles, they are punished beyond any reason for it.
He-162 is a sad plane. Basically all it can do is get to the topspeed, hope nobody climbed above it and try to BnZ people ad nauseam. Too bad its armanent is horrible and it’s fairly easy to dodge the plane itself.
Yeah it can be “untouchable”, but it often also means it’s entirely useless. It’s a great support plane, too bad there’s nobody to support on your team most of the time.
Please tell me what the difference between There, Their and They’re is when you pronounce it. Cause not one of the 3 words is spoken differently. Also thanks i didn’t ask.
Unfortunately for you, I now have a J6K and it is even worse than what I thought.
It gets slightly more firepower than the N1K2-Js, but those have actually more ammo per gun, here you only gain two HMGs (no noticeable difference in damage) and two extra cannons, but the 4x 20mm loadout on the N1K2s was already more than capable of killing ANYTHING that flies in a single burst without any difficulty.
Granted, there is a TINY chance that you get screwed over by random fragment dispersion on all 4 guns on the N1K2-J and the J6K’s 6 makes it that 0.01% more reliable. Point taken.
Despite having a better, more powerful engine, its power-to-weight is worse and the increase in speed doesn’t quite compensate for that. The high altitude capability is nice, but it’s still eclipsed by other aircraft.
I will attempt to graph turn rate for the J6K and a few other aircraft later, and I’ll post it here if the numbers don’t come out as a jumbled mess. But it’s feels worse than the already-mediocre N1K2-Js and is guaranteed to be far worse than the likes of the A7M2 or Ki-100. Not helped by the poor implementation of automatic flaps, which don’t deploy until well below their maximum speeds.
