Is WarThunder a moral company?

you just exagerate.
you have squadron vehicles, those you can optain faster.
you have events, like the on to come, if you play 2 weeks you can get F14.

You should give some love back to WT at least… at least love if not money.

Like Warframe? That one has miles better, more customer-friendly monetization, and its playerbase loves the devs :P

I was happy with the game for many years, after 9 years I became unhappy and went to visit the forum for the first time to complain and satirize that I wanted to sell my account, as a result I lost 10 years of game that I had in Warthunder lol

I dont care

This is the sad reality of Free to play games. They are kind of screwed with funding so they eventually are forced to get more and more aggressive in their monetization. And eventually once they get big enough and have to add more things constantly. They just simply turn to a crappy gambling / Pay to progress. Dear god i love war thunder but id them let the free to play version die. and Start charging 60 bucks for the game. And drop down all other Costs. This way they are supported. sure the player base will shrink but its worth it damnit if it means they can drop all the bullshit happening right now.

They obviously care about the community, but its so large and they have such limited manpower to keep up. I feel bad for the devs. they are probably the most overworked people ever.

Sure i lay hate on the game and decisions made, like the copious amount´s of C&P added. but i do know its because its not worth adding more than a third of the suggestions here on the forum since it wont generate enough money.

Indeed not, I agree. They rather gave NATO less armor instead.

That’s why Leopard 2A7V and Strv 122 have the most armor of all tanks right?

You can play for free and up to mid BR it does not cost much. That is the truth of it.

If you want to take it further with cash then OK ,nobody forced me to spend and if I am OK with what I spent or I regret what I spent that is my problem.

I have been banned from this forum so many times so I am no kiss arse but I tell it how it is.
Gaijin do what a company does to survive and nobody forces anything upon the F2P player.

Many of the top players are F2P. That is a fact.

This game is so solid for me and very rarely crashes.Lets have the good as well as the bad if we are being honest.

Well, this is certainly a thread…

The market for genre is completely and utterly captured by gaijin and whoever makes WoT.

Competitor will never emerge, its impossible to compete with a game that has 10+ years of content and playerbase in a niche market like this.

Gaijin can be as scummy as possible as long as it doesnt cause a riot.

There are much worse developers we can have i assure you.

Of course it’s been Gaijin vs ED for the last 2 years now, it’s just not talked about cause DCS requires at least a controller to function whereas you only need M&K for War Thunder.

And of course indirect competition from all other developers on the planet.

Overall, I believe so yes, let me explain below

It’s true that companies need to be profitable to survive. However, the balance between profitability and ethical practices is crucial. While some players may accept a focus on profit, others may feel that the methods used to achieve this profit, such as encouraging addiction, are morally questionable.

Your personal, and many other peoples experience, highlight a common concern in the gaming industry, Games designed to keep players engaged for long periods, often through mechanisms that encourage spending. This can lead to a cycle of dependency and addiction, which raises ethical questions about the responsibility of game developers.

The extensive grind required to progress in WarThunder, despite significant financial and time investments, is a point of frustration for many players. This model can be seen as exploitative, as it leverages players’ time and money without providing a proportional sense of achievement or completion.

The discrepancy between the game’s advertisements and the actual player experience is another ethical concern. If the game is marketed as “free to play” but requires extensive time or financial investment to access top-tier content, this can be seen as misleading.

The suggestions for improving the game, such as facilitating the grind and offering better rewards for premium accounts, are what alot of the community wants. These changes could make the game more enjoyable and fair, potentially attracting more players and retaining the existing ones.

The impact on the community could also significant. A game that fosters dependency and frustration can lead to a toxic environment, which diminishes the overall player experience, hence your comment above, would just expedite peoples hastiness to leave for another competitor.

I don’t think the issue regarding Gaijin is morality just incredible meanness and a very odd sense of what it’s products are worth.Still if people are willing to play for it then why not charge for it?

DCS is too hard to get into, thats like saying ARMA is a competitor to battlefield series. I do wish gaijin would show some love to sim, I tried getting into it but air sim is just extremely good players that rape newbies and 80% of ppl are bots or afk bombing bases.

Ground sim ques can be way too long and I hate how the map and friendly markers are turned off when more hardcore ground sims like squad hll and arma is more forgiving in that regard. On top of having and expecting players to have mics and talk which adds yet another layer WT doesnt have that compounds the issue of no IFF etc

Also ground sim still has the arcadey as hell post pen camera and telling you what components or crew you knocked out which is 100000x more unrealistic than a tiny blue chevron above friendly tanks and planes.

@Sternlos
War Thunder has IFF, and Squad is not a sim, neither is HLL or Arma.
They stopped being realistic the moment Tarkov released, and shortly after COD MW2019.
“Realistic” game devs using Goldeneye 007’s gunplay from the 1990s letting COD surpass them in realistic gunplay… annoying.

It takes 4-5 seconds to identify, its way too long and is proven time and time again by the amount of tks there.

Not to mention it not working half the time if you fail to range etc

Its the number 1 factor to keeping players away, and why ground sim is dead.
