Played an SB game a while ago where 2 guys in the lobby will just j after getting a base to prevent getting shot down. They also j out after any inclination that an enemy is close to them, be it a launch or lock warning, shot fired at them, or MAW.
Definitely wasted all the effort it look me to shoot those guy down
@Kingskofi No, 9/10 times my aircraft was just superior at turning than their’s.
When I did take on aircraft 1 BR higher than myself almost exclusively, it was a bit of effort, but even then it was marginal.
The effort comes in to predicting lines and lead during turns, I know it’s effort because if I constantly visualize a line of movement during a 2 - 3 minute dogfight a headache begins to form.
Either way I don’t want a feature that gives me free frags, that’s just stat padding at that point, and prevents air RB EC from existing.
how would you feel after all this “effort” someone just nose dives into the ground.
effort in video games is pretty easy to diminish, you can say it just took 2 clicks for you to get the kill, but also type a whole essay describing the engagement.
What matters is that it was effort, and it should be rewarded under normal circumstances, till the salty enemy that cant fathom the concept of defeat crashes out of pettiness just to deny it to you.
It is extremely annoying and sadly, is getting more frequent, its better to nip it in the bud that to allow continuous exploit anymore than it already has
I laugh when players misjudge their vehicle’s compression and that’s my victory. I don’t need credit because they screwed up and gave me a laugh.
Why are you annoyed that others made mistakes? They’re the ones that deserve to be annoyed, they’re the ones that made a mistake and crashed during a dogfight they wanted to win.
Laugh at them in your mind, smile, and move on to the next target.
I was thinking about getting it this sale, but i dont want to grind the entire tree just to play 3 planes and OP stuff (rafale). I’ll take my sanity over the F1C anyday.
The F1C can be pretty sad, its a one trick pony that suffers everywhere else. Godspeed.
just as you said, i also laugh when someone pulls a stupid move and dies, but this isnt the issue.
The issue is when its done Intentionally to deny a kill, thats it. Its literally the title of the post.
Too long have people just j’d out to deny a kill and gone unpunished. and in modes like sim, it isnt even punished by a crew lock or payment of full repair cost. This HAS to change.
(in sim as long as you spawn, youre already paying your full repair cost no matter what)
Frankly I don’t care if someone does it. Saves me ammo and time on target so that I can either switch to the next target faster or RTB sooner.
If someone wants to forfeit their SL and RP gains by crashing out of spite, it’s whatever. There are far bigger issues in this game to complain about over other players essentially cutting their noses to spite their opponents.
Back when ejecting gave frags, thousands of players landed near enemy runways and had their friends/alt accounts take off and eject over and over again for free frags.
After that Gaijin removed the exploit, which was ejecting.
Man you must really hate the current system that War Thunder has implemented then don’t you? Since currently you get REWARDED by doing literally nothing except being shot down by another player. Meanwhile you get PUNISHED for the mistake of crashing with a big fat 0, and a crew lock.
Which means that surely you’d be an advocate for what people are suggesting here, which means that when an enemy player is within X distance when you “accidentally” crash, the game counts it as a kill for them which means instead of the crashed player being punished with a nice big 0 and crew lock, they would now be REWARDED with the RP and SL you get from being shot down AND wont be crew locked.
There we go, you have identified something you dont like, which happens with the current system, and now suggested something that fixes the issue you have!
Yes, sometimes someone will crash on purpose so as not to give you a kill before you can hit them, but I don’t think this is a common behavior, anyway there are fifteen other enemy planes to shoot down.
Everytime i have to read these threads it looks like that way too much players had ancestors which met this lady:
A few thing to think about:
I mean outside Air SB and rather rare 1 vs 1s in Air RB (vs skilled opponents) actual maneuver kills are the exception. The satisfaction to have forced a good opponent to crash into the ground is reward enough for any decent player.
It is not hard to understand that certain people are trapped into the hamster wheel called grind and get frustrated when certain opponents decide to deny them mission score / SL / RP by crashing undamaged into the ground.
But it also clear that requesting free SL/RP & kills just for being somewhere near a crashing enemy won’t happen - the way this game works (“no pain, no gain”) is evidence enough that gaijin has zero interest to increase player income in any way, shape or form.
I do agree that i miss sometimes the proximity score (years ago…) which rewarded you at least with something after a long dog fight which was then ended by an otherwise totally useless team mate “helping” you out.
Besides that: As long as the majority of Air RB players are actually Ground RB players it is logical that those guys crash on purpose; in their world denying enemies mission score is part of their game play to reduce enemy SP.
If you get shot down by an enemy player, having done nothing else all game, you receive 135 mission score which, at top tier with a premium account, nets you somewhere in the region of ~800-1000 RP and some SL as well (I’ve never paid attention to how much) you still get this bonus if you have gotten other score.
If you have done nothing all game, have Zero Score, and crash into the ground yourself, you get Zero RP and SL, and a crew lock. If you have gotten other score from the game, you don’t get that bonus from being shot down.
