And I’m sure the ROC isn’t a fan of PRC military vehicles either, but that is entirely irrelevant. The techtree is China, not just PRC (Peoples Republic of China), not just ROC (Republic of China), it’s China.
Just like there is no “Nazi Germany” tree, there’s only a Germany tree, which includes the German Empire, Nazi Germany, DDR (GDR?) and modern day BRD (FRG?). This means that the militaries of all these nations are placed in this techtree because each of them Individually is/was Germany.
Not sure if this is the right way to see it. There should be a fair system that all nations are treated by and all players can advocate for keeping. This shouldn’t be a competition about who can complain better.
At least this current situation should be good practice for that tough, since it’s one of the rare times Chinese and international players come together against basically the same issue.
i really dont care about adding vt4 to japan, but i also think its bad idea. Why ?, well japan have a good top tier lineup and it can still get others sub-tree like the phillipines or Indonesia or malaysian or singapore or even south korea. and for china, there is no need to add subtree, its good from the low to top tier and it will better when they start adding the others flankers. even so if they decide to add a subtree, there is north korea with the upgraded mig29 pl12 and maybe new su27, or vietnam.
I believe that equipment-wise, Taiwan is more harmonised with the JP or the US tree than any other tree, so I think it fits there better.
However, if Gaijin really does not want “politics” to be involved when it comes to vehicle organisation, they should just quit trying to make a “narrative” from vehicle tech trees and just give the originator country the vehicles that they make - instead of doing a copy-paste of multiple vehicles across tech trees.
If they make a major revision of a vehicle, then yeah, they should get a copy of it someplace else, like, as a premium.
Honestly I have no idea. The whole concept is based on the idea that a nation is a nation, meanwhile colonies completely break that since they sort of are a nation, but then also not really. I’ll give it a cautious no, since I wouldn’t consider Namibia (former German West Africa) as Germany either.
But there’s still the option of subtrees if players from those nations are fine with it. South Africa and India for example were added to the british tree, not because they are Britain, but because of a connection to Britain.
USSR is probably the weirdest one, because it’s the only tree that’s technically a union of nations rather than an individual one, and unlike China there is no modern day nation claiming to be USSR either. I guess they could make it all former SSRs, but they also established it as a Russian tree already so it’d be hard to go from full Russia to a system where they are all presented equally.
They’re worse armor wise than soviet ones but get reverse in top tiers, but yeah their vehicles aren’t necessarily terrible I don’t get what the issue is either. Maybe it’s a situation similar with NATO gear where they don’t accept bug reports because “we think they couldnt have this” reasoning. Gotta love that.
Many want USSR to be an actual union tree instead of glorified Russian empire. I think if we saw Ukraine and Belarus and Kazakhstan being implemented, it could be okay
Well I was talking to one of the China mains last night, and he first said it was all about reload. Then when I brought in the Ariete and Leclerc, and challenger, he went back on his word and made a difference for all of them.
At the end he said skill doesn’t matter and it’s only about fun, but at the start he said Chinese strength lies only in the skill
It’s too bad that real life politics are preventing vehicles from a certain former Soviet nation to be added to the USSR tree.
There are some interesting modifications done to Soviet equipment by the former Soviet nations that could still be added though, like the T-72SIM, the T-72A Aslan or T-64MV
I don’t think it’s politics, just how Gaijin has shifted to a full Russian tree. If it was mixed lineups from all former SSRs from the start, keeping with the USSR theme, I don’t think it would’ve become the issue it is now.
That being said I don’t think I’m very knowledgeable in this topic, and I haven’t spoken to any players from those nations. So I think it’s best to take everything I say about these nations as an uninformed assumption and nothing more
i main ussr tree and there is nothing wrong with it except a bit missing light or fast firing top tier tank, for air tree its good just missing top tier again with the mig29k mig29m su27sm3
FYI you are correct:
East Germany was Deutsche Demokratische Republik (DDR)/German Democratic Republic (GDR)
West Germany and post unification Germany was/is the Bundesrepublik Deutschland(BRD)/the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG)
Hopefully it just gets fixed alongside the other Chinese tanks. If the ERA was individual plates, the ammo was actually behind the armor, the mantlet was done right and spall liners were added the VT-4s wouldn’t be bad tanks.
I have no idea why Gaijin seems allergic to fixing these issues…
