Increasing the Maximum Battle Rating of Ground Vehicles and Helicopters

The current changes signify a dark turn which could lead to the fall of War Thunder.

Previously, the structure for BR balancing changes came in the form of “Planned Battle Rating Changes for Month/Year”. Such as Planned Battle Rating changes for August 2025 (updated 16:00, 15.08).
Official language for that post and all before it was, and I quote, “battle rating change proposals” or “planned battle rating changes”. At this point, feedback was considered and changes were adjusted based on the player response. Even though such changes were few and far between, they still were there.

From the February 2025 BR Adjustments, feedback was encouraged and legitimized:

Here’s an example template (per comment):

Mode, vehicle name. 8.0 > 8.3. Reasoning.
If you’d like to write more proposals and participate more actively in proposing changes, make sure to invite your friends and like proposals from other players that you agree with!

We’ll be reading your feedback on the planned Battle Rating changes, so please share your thoughts and suggestions! Make sure to read comments from other players and click on the ‘like’ button on suggestions that you think are most important so that we can see them.

The War Thunder Team.

Even naval decompression had discussion, such as in Planned Naval Battle Ratings Decompression. Note “planned” and language clearly indicating feedback was considered. The Naval decompression topic is an exact equivalent to the the topic we now have. Except here, it is implied no adjustments will be made on the changes. BR movements are referred to in the past tense. The first sentence says “Today, we’ll be releasing an update”, not “Today, we’ll be releasing planned changes”. Edit: While typing this, the update was deployed less than an hour after announcement.
The only hope is of the use of the phrase “initial changes”, which implies future adjustment will be made.

This is perplexing even from a materialist perspective; when balancing the game would not contradict profit, why would players be ignored? We see a trend of increasing ignorance from Gaijin, but for what?

Players’ feedback is an integral part of every game’s development. Losing touch with the community means driving away players and losing the game. If negligence continues, the consequences will be inevitable.

I’m happy to see ground decompression but the execution is very poor and in some cases just laughable. Not to mention that there was no post about upcoming changes.

Why does the M1A1 HC and M1A2 are sitting 0.7 lower than SEP’s, despite in game it’s effectively the same tank but with worse thermal’s gen?

Why does M1A1 is still sitting at 11.3?

What does make VT-4 and VT-4A 12.3-12.7 material?

What does make T-72B3A 12.3 material?

What does make Merkava 4’s 12.3-12.7 material?

What does French and German Eurocopter’s alongside with Italian A-129D and Israeli AH-60 make them equal to AH-64E, Mi-28NM and Z-10ME?

There is also a severe lack of communication from gaijin to the players.
The occasional CM disclosure feels out of touch with the community and feedback feels like it falls on deaf ears

Can we have the domestic pz-531 apsfds round for the Leopard 2PL as well please?

Please give the Leclercs the SHARD round as they have no reason to be put at 12.7 without it

Insane name but I agree, france probably deserves a better round now

I don’t think all of these helicopters are equal and should share the same BR…

Continuing the discussion from Server Update 23.10.2025:

thank god you guys raised it up, those stupidly low clouds are annoying, also should do the same on Pradesh map

Could you please reconsider the BR changes considering the Spyder?
This anti air system is extremely bad at it’s job compared to everything else at that BR bracket.
Also Israel has a big anti air gap (from 9.7 to 12.7) with no saclos missiles so I would personally leave it at 12.0 or actually implement the bug reports that are being ignored. :/

Pardon my ignorance, but if this “decompression” stretches ground vehicles to 12.7 and helicopters to 13.0 while leaving CAS jets’ BRs untouched, isn’t this just a sneaky recompression? Am I missing something?

Its both really

Yeah, decompressing tanks vs tanks, decompressing tanks vs top tier planes

Hopefully they can bring this in to more maps, low cloud cover was a mistake

Especially since clouds render higher for tanks than they do for aircraft

That i could live to see the day 10.7 is playable is amazing

and here we go again …

sorry, this isn’t decompression, this is preparation for yet another lazy cashgrab. this is just making room (and preparing excuse) for introducing new batch of 12.3 premiums at 80$ price tag …

and in a few weeks (probably when sales are over) we’ll likely see wave of RP increases for the vehicles moved up, with 12.7 tanks somewhere in 450-500k RP range and with SL costs increased … plus of course talisman cost increases, module cost RP (+ GE) cost increases, crew cost increases, …

and of course we can already smell rank9 reshuffling in the air because there is nothing more profitable than shoehorning yet another grind speedbump in the form of BR difference penalty & “downgrading” previous batch of 70$ premium vehicles so they are unable to research top rank
