Amazing solution, reduce the map sizes of a mode that needs bigger maps for the vehicles it features right now
That would be nothing unprecedented.
It’s time for ARB to embrace the combined aspect WT is so popular for.
Current ARB maps are fine, it’s just the lack of any meaningful objective forces people to flock to the middle, which would happen even if the maps were 300x300km.
I never said to reduce the map size…. I said that the current maps aren’t big enough to avoid high end missile systems….

Just because you don’t get to play the ground units and the ships doesn’t mean they aren’t there. There are more objectives to the mode than just “kill all enemy planes”, Gaijin ruining those objectives doesn’t mean that they are gone.
I’m just gonna stop right here, we’ve completely derailed the topic yet again and this discussion is going nowhere.
They are small because most people hate big maps. They want quick matches with a lot of action.
If you think about it a little bit, exactly 2 situations will come out of it:

spaa cover the entire map and then the match lasts forever, because there 0 reasons for anyone to play risky against spaa and it’s better to throw bombs at them from 30km, kill them all and than play usual arb match. It’s boring for airplanes. It’s even more boring for the spaa. And the worst part is that it takes a very long time when people need fast matches.

spaa do not cover the entire map and planes just fly around them.
It’s not really combined if players can only utilize one vehicle type. Let’s follow your logic here, we could just remove player controlled aircraft from GRB and place harmless AIs in their place, that just circle around waiting to get shot down by AAs.
What an easy way to make GRB a combined aspect mode that isn’t straight up cancer.
It very much does mean that as ARB is just a glorified TDM at this point.
Either of those is easily preventable with implementation.
1, you limit where missile systems can be placed on the half of the map owned by either team going to be in the vicinity of airfields and bases or the low altitude approach’s to said places.
Could air defenses be specifically hunted and destroyed allowing for a “normal” ARB that highly discourages strike/bombers ? Sure. But gives players who want play those aircraft specific goals/targets and gives the fighters something to try and prevent.
- So it’s no different than ARB now, don’t understand the complaint.

Funny to see you assume planes will be able to outrange AAs.
AAs could also be a second spawn or something, so they’d already have aircraft in their range that are ready to die.
Isn’t this a solution to having tanks in air rb? Like if they effect tickets, then they are gonna be a target in air battles no matter what if people want to win

I think introducing a BR change right now would be an issue, especially when I think we can all agree that HARMS are likely to be introduced in the near future, meaning that it would probably be more reasonable to change BRs after HARMs, respective of the performance of the new HARMs and SPAAs.
However, honestly I like how there is a noticeable change in top tier, as in my limited experience I’m not being instantly nuked by CAS…
I think the main way to make everyone happy is to just make separate ground modes, one without air, and one with air.
