not surprised. better to have the alpha/closed beta have less moving parts. imagine having this game start with all of the current vehicles as an alpha.
very true

You mean YOU don’t remember how ground was introduced.
TO was also in open beta
They can’t use realistic values for a lot of modern vehicles because there only are approximations available and/or the documentation is classified.
They have to make stuff up for these vehicles, so they might as well do it in a way that makes the vehicles more balanced
Personally, I’d have rather they not done so at all, but Gaijin doesn’t care about that so for one nation they’ll overestimate while for everyone else they underestimate when it comes to unclear or unavailable data.
This was the main reason people didnt want modern stuff.
If you let them just go full fantasy, i fear for what will happen to the lower ranks.
(constant threads of “tiger needs 150mm of armor because glorious german steel”)
You can be annoyed by something without wanting it to be outright removed.
That’s the thing - nothing gets removed.
You just have option to play as you want, because there is 2 modes:
-combined GRB
-TO
And you play how you want.
It’s that simple and easy to understand
We wouldn’t have these modern vehicles in the game if they didn’t make up the missing specs for those vehicles.
In fact, there even are older vehicles that wouldn’t be in the game if Gaijin didn’t Take some liberties when it comes to modeling vehicles.
Same.
Keep values as realistic as you can and balance things with BRs and some other soft measures like reload speed.
If they use reload values for balance they might as well use other values for balance
See, that’s the neat part; I didn’t want the modern vehicles in-game specifically because their information is classified and therefore they cannot be accurately modeled.
I’ve never once wanted a half-assed model job vehicle in the game.
Fair, also based
Yeah. Tiger was under br’ed for a long time due to poor players. Imagine if gaijin then just added armor to it as well.
no. manual reloads are naturally different. armor and engine values, not so much.
It’s not just manual reloads, they also adjust auto-loader speeds and ready-rack sizes
only times i have seen anything about auto-loaders was debates on if the auto-loaders could go straight to the next round or had to do a larger rotation.
They got a sweet taste of that abrams hype. The premium abrams hit war thunder like crack.
As other guy already said, reload speed is different than just altering engine power or armor.
I am pretty sure a lot of the howitzers with auto-loaders have slower reloads than they should have and the PzH 2000 has some shells in the auto-loader that aren’t considered as part of the ready rack.
Edith: I’ll have to check this later, maybe I am misremembering the reload times for the auto-loader howitzers.
Same thing happened with the Maverick hype and the release of the F-14 in the game.
lol the sam’s are not even that good and the tan sam is currently unplayable i have not died once to them and kill them with ease at all teirs ngl
