I’d definitely say it’s more than a handful, I have the same convo’s with 3 - 4 friends almost daily on the subject of wishing for a ground only mode, not to mention the almost daily instalocked posts that appear to regulaly crop up here, that one youtube poll that was deemed fake news by another cas player.
It’s almost like cas players know they are hated and fear a tank only mode because it may take away their only source of fun as everyone runs off to tank only, leaving them with other cas players where they might be forced to actually play tanks to win matches :o

Have ypu played “Red Desert”? I’ve came to liked it lately. And i see that majority of people like this map as well.
That would be a good place to start.
It is a very good map for the new spaa. I find it very fun to play rn.

Please give us actual, natural shaped and large maps.
My ability to drop 2x 1000 lbs bombs on tak sin my P51D5 was far less effective once I had to search for enemy vehicles in the french countryside including both the Fields of Normandy Map, the Normandy beach map and then some more because they could be beneath any tree, beside any building.
Only way to perform CAS was for my team’s tanks to use smokeshells to mark positions and then dive bomb those spots.
No easy markers to tell me where tanks are.
No easy lanes that funnel tanks into death-zones.
No capture points that force tanks out into the open.
Anywhere in that vast green expanse, a tiger may be waiting in the bushes.

Yes, but the idea is course correction to STOP making up fake nonsense. Not do so further.
I never said it also wasn’t easy to get enough SP to spawn in a CAP jet.
Thing is I don’t think you should be required to spawn in a jet to be able to touch a CAS jet. CAS counters tanks, tanks counter spaa and spaa counter CAS, this is just the best way.
If the answer to CAS being “just spawn a plane bro” was fine previously, than the answer to SPAA being “just spawn a tank bro” is also more than fine currently.

I hate that map because it’s one of those valley maps with a lot of cover for planes and Spike/PARS spamming helis to hide behind.

I believe he is talking about combat irl which would mostly be trying to survive arty, infantry, air power, and your own tank before ever seeing tank v tank combat.

If the game was 1 to 1 realistic America would be walking all over everyone else in all modes because America has always had the numbers, the extensive combat support AND as time went on superior technology.
If the game was 1 to 1 realistic nobody would want to play anything except America.

Yes forgive me for not wanting to be nuked from orbit, being able to spade out tanks i’ve worked quite a number of years to get seeing teams be evaporated from things i have 0 hope of being able to fight off.
Ground back in the early test days used to be tank only, aircraft only got added when the tests started becoming more regular and even then it wasn’t as terrible as it is today.

I like it for the new spaa because its large enough to let you get cover while also being open enough to have your radar work.
