Not to mention how garbage the maps are and would only further exacerbate those issues.
To add to the fact that Minor nations have less tanks to field through much of the BR spectrum, ontop of them being bad due to terrible modeling, overtiering or general lackluster performance.
Hell, the new SPAAs and SPAAs as a whole suffer from how absolutely garbage the maps are. They have basically ZERO room to actually maneuver and position to deal with CAS threats, and it’s even worse for the new top tier SPAA because so many of them are so damn large.
It’s gotten to the point where I’m thinking of going competitive just for something new. As of right now I just screw around in Customs with friends while we do various games like Hide and Seek, Prop Hunt (with the new SPAAs), and our personal favourite: 9/11.
What is 9/11? Well, it’s a fun game where we spawn into a city map on Ground maps (Alaska, Sun City, etc.) and one person has to try and fly his plane into the largest building. The other team can use whatever they want to try and prevent them from crashing (minus “Fox 3” missiles, because that’s too easy). Honestly, the only reason I got good at avoiding SPAAs is because of that game.
God I love playing on Sweden and Advance to Rhine with all the buildings blocking your view
Valley maps also are very enjoyable as someone that likes to play anti air. Gotta love being unable to spot and intercept planes right up until they drop their A2G load
Planes would still sell for sure, but the point is that from a business PoV Gaijin would want to maximise the incentive for ground players to buy helis and planes.
Oh it’s a dream for CAS players. Especially in the A spawn area on Rhine. Literally drop a single 1,000 pounder, and you get four elims and a bunch of assists. I’d know, because I’ve done it.
This is a problem in the current version of the game as well, so thinking top tier UK is all good and fine because they have EFT (Germany has it as well) is honestly a really bad take.
Suggesting that good air vehicles can make up for bad tanks is also wild, as it’s a fact plenty of people don’t even care about air units in the first place.
Tanks should be balanced against each other, without even looking at other assets.
You can’t tell me with a straight face that this isn’t happening as we speak…
Why would I pick to play top tier UK/Israel/Italy/China instead of Germany ?
They shouldn’t waste their time and money on a game mode that a handful of players on the forums have been whining about, especially when there’s no return on investment.
Balancing ground vehicles against eachother would only work if Gaijin finally got off their “realism” horse, acknowledged that their armour, penetration, weight and reload values are inaccurate anyways and started to properly adjust those fantasy values based on in-game performance.
Like, for god’s sake, you already approximate so many values, ignore so many sources and make up so many numbers, why not adjust them according to in-game balance needs?
Nah, can’t nerf unbalanced things, because that would make them unrealistic.
