Which also depends on which nation you are playing and at which BR.
Because for nations like Britain, Italy and Israel there really isn’t any reason to even spawn AA at 12.0 currently, especially if you are uptiered to 13.0.
All you can do as these nations is hope that you have Germany, US or Russia on your team with some players that know how the basics of their AA systems.
All plane/helicopter player has to do is: fly low (if you want get closer to ground battlefield) or launch missiles/guided bombs from safe distance.
Maneuver and use countermeasures (again if you want to get closer but why get closer when you outrange AAs i don’t understand)
That’s it, not so hard i believe. If do so, only treat will be enemy planes, while ground units are defenceless (only hope AA to shoot down projectiles).
Did you read top tier CAS projectiles effective ranges?? Can you tell me effective range of KH38, or GBU65?(Or whatever it’s called) Or even KH29?
And then tell me AA lock ranges
The lock on target range of IR AGMs is ~14km against a Leopard 2/Abrams from the rear.
The effective range of Pantsir against a static jet is 16km and 12km against a maneuvering jet with a skilled SPAA user.
The effective range of the new SPAA is 15 - 22km against maneuvering targets.
Kh-29 with the TV seeker has a lock range of ~7km against a Leopard 2 sized target.

Who cares that you can launch to the ground from 20+ KM when the tank can just move and avoid it because the tracking range is ~14km for MBTs from the rear for IR munitions, and ~7km for the Kh-29TD against a target the size of a Leopard 2.
Yeeeah,… I can assure that IRIS-T outranges every CAS in this games maps.

Helos are just free food, especially IRIS. most maps you can see helo spawning on that radar screen and after that it is dead 85% times. Same goes on aim 9X on claws.
Have you played Iris-t?? I don’t have much experience in it, but i have never got a single air kill at 15+ km… Even radar didn’t showed me anything 15+km. So how it outranges CAS i don’t understand + card characteristics and my personal experience.
SPAA being able to completely deny all CAS is extremely bad for balance, hence why you can’t be careless around CAS, even when there’s competent SPAA on your team.

Only times when cas actually overperforms it, when there is multiple jets shooting shit on you on same time.

this is literally how people try to treat this spaa’s, they attempt to somehow not get targetted by them by getting too close for absolutely no reasons, its rare to see anyone actually going to a decently long range and actually trying to get a long range kill
