ERA of course not. CMs? you definitely can and definitely should. Id like you see your reasoning for why a F-86 with no flares or missiles can fight a Su-25 with all aspects and flares. each one is basically a huge 3km no fly zone in comparison
The issue isn’t the F-86 not having CMs, the issue is that the F-86 can see the Su-25 at all.

Exactly, so the solution should not be giving the F-86 CMs, it should be the F-86 not seeing the Su-25.

would the same go for higher things like F-100 and F-4C?
Truthfully, there is no perfect solution. I have found the F-100 to be fine where it is though. The F-100F was a very fun spade.
