So the Ikv103 is going to get its heat removed and move down to 3.3. Making it a Sav m/43 that has better mobility and worse armor. What is the logic behind this? that thing was fine sitting at 4.0. It is more of a meme tank rather than an actually good vehicle anyway.
You can bring it up to 5.7 or 7.0 just to screw with people with a super low velocity heat round. Even if you remove the heat and make it 3.3 it wouldn’t make much difference, it will even perform worse due to it having a much slower reload than most things at 3.3 (not to mention having a worse round).
Mind you it has a 45.7% winrate and 0.59 K/R on statshark, the sav m/43 1946 has a similar stat (worse winrate btw). This proves that moving it down in br while removing the better heat would NOT fix its performance problem.
Was this removal historically accurate? If not is this change should not happen. Now Sweden has its little heat slinger essentially butchered. No more fun attempts to kill heavy tank when I get a full up tier in my 5.7 lineup I guess?
Also, wasn’t the Ikv102 just the Ikv103 without the heat round and with less powerful engine? Why not just add that at 3.3 and keep the Ikv 103 at 4.0?
Edit: I’m just gonna add a poll and see people’s opinion on this.
Should the Ikv has its 400mm HEAT removed?

If it still has the m/49 shot with 240mm pen there’s no reason for it to go down.
It can still pen a baby panther with the default ammo.
I’m just stunned it had a shot with 400mm pen. At that BR makes no sense.
Because it’s KD sucked? The average player doesn’t do well with it. I wouldn’t play it personally either, slow velocity. Heat is too inconsistent and not worth using over something like my Half track German tank with the long 75, APHE is far more consistent and has similar mobility to the IKV.
It was 4.7 but has been constantly going down because it’s just a meh vehicle

Honestly I don’t mind it moving it up in br because it has a superior pen than everything in its br. But recall that thing started at 5.X and moved allllll the way down to 4.0 simply because of how unreliable the heat is and how it has no armor at the same time.

Besides you’ve never even played it lol, actually your RB stats for Sweden are terrible, I think you fall into the category of players that have caused it to drop in BR so why would your opinion hold any weight in this matter?

Anything but buffing shell types at this point

What the hell does that have to do with it? Posters like you are a joke when you make comments like that.
You missed my point entirely by the way.
240mm pen at 3.7 is already overkill. How does removing the 400mm pen make it any worse AT 3.7? It would still be able to pen 120mm at 60 deg with default ammo, which is pretty much ANY enemy it would encounter at 4.7.
SMH.

Brother? The things fires heat. A round which tends to be basically a gambling round on whether it wants to work or not. I can use the Alecto and kill tanks at 6.7 or higher does that mean they should bump the Alecto and other tanks with heat rounds?
No because the chassis sucks and so does the velocity and overalls performance of the round.
You are the spitting image of skill issue and spout nonsense because you literally lack the mental fortitude to see problems with vehicles. It’s clear you’re a below average player and you’ve probably died to the IKV once and now have some sort of hate against it but with all that it’s just making you and your takes null and void. You’re portraying yourself as someone who wants to be included in a conversation they know nothing about.

It’s a HEAT round that’s what the problem is.
I had experience with this TD that mostly consists of hitting a KV-1 on its side while only killing its fuel tank, hitting a T-34 and get volumetric, and does nothing post pen on multiple occasions. This lack of post pen means it is very hard to get one shot kills and you have no armor and bad reload.
To be more specific, It has an 105mm cannon that requires 8 sec reload on an ACED crew (10.5 by default) and has armor that barely stands any machine gun. You can get you gunner machine-guned frontally since there is a gap for the optic.
Then you are sitting duck waiting to get killed or you may run if your driver isn’t 50caled to death at that point.

Nuh uh that’s a non problem I see big pen number and think that’s all that matter, actual performance doesn’t matter you don’t know what you’re talking about

Lmao he’s like this on the falcon thread too, bro literally sees pen as the only factor on a vehicle

Ikv103 should have the heat round fixed and it will keep it’s BR, maybe even go up if taken too far.
people are just judging the 400mil pen ignore the fact that the jet could literally fly next to a ammo rack, sending just 3 “spall projectiles” and filling the enemy turret with the simpson’s family instead of a ball of fire.

The IKV came in at 4.7 then kept going down because it’s just not great, you can do good in any vehicle if you’re lucky and play right but that means nothing in the terms of balance, the IKV is simply a meh vehicle through and through.
Again if we balanced stuff based on just pen we’d have a lot more scary autocannon tanks at much lower BR’s (PT-76-57 PTSD)

I get that HEAT can be inconsistent. I’ve used the m51 and all it has is HEAT.
Small consolation is that it’s great for assists missions though…
You can lose 2 crew through the front of the IKV with 7.62, the gunner sight and the drivers glass port are both exposed. The driver more so is flat plat that’s 6mm thick meaning you can go through it with any standard 30 cal.
Not to mention aircraft will shred you especially if they have HE rounds since the crew is so close together.
I’ve killed quite a few IKV with the roof gun on the panzer IV after they managed to damage my breach and leave my crew alive lol.

Yes, now add that with no armor, low projectile velocity, bad reload, and br where tanks are a lot easier to get volumetric (comparing to the larger heavies and early mbts), you get a TD with 400pen heat that doesn’t perform so well even at 4.0.
Real shame, i remember a couple of 8.0 games where it performed quite well, i love tanks like this where they’re small and unarmoured so positioning matters.
