Identification in sim

Something needs to be done about blue side jets on red side. Every other game I shoot down an idiot German or Japanese F4 player who flies silent and doesn’t respond when I say I’m going to engage, and then doesn’t accept apology and gets angry when I shoot them down. As red side I should see an F4 and be able to just engage it without worrying about this rubbish. Something desperately needs to be done, like maybe making it so games are split between the actual nations rather than the tech tree so you can get East and West germany. Japan should also just never be on red side. Fix this ASAP.

What are you flying?

A lot of aircraft at the Phantom’s BR’s have IFF capable radar.

J7E. It’s a problem at all BRs though.

Hey, sometimes it’s hard to remember to check. After all, they might not check either so best to launch and hope.

Every nation having a copy paste doesnt make it easy but they still need to check

But you don’t understand, that blatantly French plane on my side might be a spy, can’t take any chances.

These are jokes, please do not launch at the French planes. We suffer enough.

Im English, Im legally required to have a thirst to murderhobo any frenchman on my team

The problem is IFF is built into your visor. Something not modeled in the game but then many things aren’t modeled sigh…
Even then at lower BRs it is mostly a nuisance since there is a lack of proper identification.

Ehm… what?

10.0=< Jets arent bad since you have radars with IFF, but at lower part chasing stuff that everybody has like Sabres or F104 is. And it going to get worse when Denmark/Norway come for Sweden with one more Sabre and F104.

This issue could be resolved by revamping the VoIP to make the whole team on the same channel by default (I’d still like the ability to move to other channels though).

At lower tiers it may make sense to not have radio communication because early planes may not have had a radio but once you get into late WW2 and cold war era vehicles everyone has radios.

No fucking body uses the voice chat and you can only chat with your allies already. Wdym?

And not everyone responds to T-4-1 making it a bit harder to identify.

At least your RWR has IFF so anything you see on it means its coming from a hostile.

nobody uses voice chat because currently you have to be in a squad to even use it (or people use Discord or PSN/XBOX network to chat) and that’s fine, but more people would use it if we were all in the same lobby default.

And that goes for the pre-game/post game lobby - that should let both teams talk with each other - make it push-to-talk and only allow 1 person to key up the mic at a time (for my sanity).

The way games used to be…

Personally I don’t play much top tier, when I do I use IFF. When I don’t have IFF I use the only surefire way and that is a flyby to ID (Check for tags).

Most GUI Interface is connected to the Pilot’s Visor Hud. This includes IFF.

This is why Games such as Hell Let Loose, and Post Scriptum/“Squad 1944” have it as an option. It’s more beneficial for Tactical and Strategic communication, it also helps unite the WT Community rather than splitting them apart. This is why the Halo Community was so heavily held together even when the servers were shutting down, people were going to friends’ houses, linking up consoles, etc just like in the good old days to play some of the final moments they could on the original game. Since MCC is not the same.

VOIP is very, VERY important. Excuses like->Protect the children->Not our problem, that’s the kid issue, just keep it off by default and or add a Team & Global, based mute button or even allow us to lower the player voice audio via a slider. Honestly wish we could just taunt our opponents within reason. Sigh…

The things is going worst, lobbies every country against every country XD

This for real, when I see the MiG-21UPG Bison in an F-16 and shoot it but wait it was friendly oops

There you have radar with IFF … but at lower BRs many planes don’t have radar or IFF, and it’s much worst
