I’ve never played sim, and I rarely play RB. I certainly don’t know enough about RB to do it consistently for a challenge event.
I bet you if they reduced the points requirement even to 30k for Arcade, people would still grind RB/Sim if it’s that lucrative.

Arcade is very easy to do, but boring. But if I don’t have time, I do it in arcade. 2h per star.
You forgot to mention what tier you’re playing.
It took me 4 hours to get 21k points, and I often had first place. My scores were generally pretty good. 4 hours per day dedicated to one mode with barely any breaks for 8 steps over 16 days. That’s insane.
How do you manage to do 1 and half in rb?

Take advantage of the multipliers. i’m not any good in SB so may work on that later. but you get 1.4 for play RB and if you use a rank 8 you get an additional 1.2.
I take out my F-14 get between 2 to 5 kills per game. once my missiles are gone get someone to shoot me down, reload and repeat. some games i get 0 kills but i can burn through a lot of games focusing on getting a kill with missiles and bouncing quickly to do it again. so i may be in a match for 5 min or so.
Oh ain’t life grand. I have no idea how to fly jets let alone work flares and missiles.

They should reduce it to 30K per step. 30K is somewhat doable.
How long is it taking? In ground it has been taking me about 18 games or about 6 hours which for me is too much.
I love ground, so I don’t feel the pain.
This is one of the reason why you are struggling to grind.
Try sim its quite fun.
I’m sure it is with the right setup. Then again it’s a completely different game from arcade.
I use only keyboard controls for sim. It’s like flying a plane in GTA. Also tank battles are quite fun in sim as well.
Sim dogfights are really fun.
