Ok well I know I shouldn’t but I can’t really believe you until I see something, but i’ll do my own research and get back to you because I don’t want to be wrong.
Yes, it is a Shar Problem. But the reason why the SHar is so hot, is also the reason why the F-5 is so cold. (I’ve had an F-5E 1 flare defeat a rear-aspect Aim-9M before)
My bad then, confusing it with the F-5E
Oh yes let’s egregiously undertier a bomber because another egregiously undertiered jet can kill it.
No. It is objectively worse than the MiG-21SMT and practically every other 10.3. Play it first before saying something like that.
lol that’s just gaijin. Swedish and russian docs.
Nah it is DEFINITELY too cold by a lot. There is no shot this thing is similar to F-117 heat sig with 2 ancient afterburning engines
Ok but you contradict this thinking with
MiG-21SMT is the best 10.3 because its just undertiered for zero reason
In sim, J-7D is probably ok at its BR because it doesnt have IFF and has same BR with J-7E, which is super OP at its BR.
However, in ARB? Yeah they are cracked.
I could be wrong but could you go into sensor view. I think what happened was that the missile was pulling o intercept the F5C but then the Mountain blocked the seeker. If not then idk.
I DO go into sensor view in that clip
Ok. Then the engines are over performing.
Dang then I SEE that it is a problem don’t know why you gotta use all caps.
With proper balancing it would be fine to move it up and spread out BRs. As of now there’s no reason to send more flareless planes into battle against AIM-9Ls, Python 3s, R-73s and Magic IIs.
Move the MiG-21SMT up, space 10.0-11.3 properly and than it can move.
at its core, IR signatures need a ground up overhaul and that is a huge ask, let alone a huge undertaking. (some hints its being worked on though) But as a short term stop gap. the code added to “model” the F-117s IR reducing engines, could be applied to the exceptionally hot aircraft like the F-14 and Harrier but I do wonder if it could be used to increase the IR signature of aircraft like the F-5
I’m not talking about the prior convo at all. Just saying you contradicted with semi-relevant statements shortly after.
I think that would be nice because going off of thrust isn’t correct.
you said I didnt
No I asked if you could. I thought that was the end of the video. Additionally I also wanted sensor view from the missile if your still able to get it.
I don’t believe it’s contradictory, he said the F-8 should move up because the F-105 was the same BR. I said they serve two different purposes in game and one cannot be balanced against the others, only against peers of the same purpose.
Its quite a clever way to avoid having to do loads of unique modeling of IR signatures because in 99% of cases it works fine enough. As thrust increase the heat sig increases and vice versa. You get variable heat sigs based upon throttle settings without having to add any extra code.
Just the 1% suffers
Aircraft like the Harrier suffer because they gain a load of thrust at lower air speed. Like say, when defending from a missile or dogfighting. F-5s just have inherrently low thrust and so are inherrently cold.
