Have you flown MiG-15bis or MiG-17s before?
If you have flown those, aiming GSh-23 should not be that hard because NR-23s and GSh-23s has same speeds afaik.

Yes I do fly MiG-15bis and I hate NR-23. as a gun. would rather stick with AN/M3 (the machine gun one) until about 10.0 rather than dealing with NR-23 and it’s byproduct.
Dude i’m the one who can’t aim the GSh-23, I would do anything to not shoot that gun again even if it means I have to deal with NR-30 60 round mag capacity.
The PL-5B actually quite terrible at acquiring side aspect locks when compared to other missiles. It’s especially a pain against F-5s, because you need a nearly perfect rear aspect shot to even lock them.
The Chinese F-5A is equally cracked, but the J-7D is “safer” and less reliant on needing to be good at A2A combat.
However, the J-7D still should be 11.0, because it is too good for 10.7.

It’s a 30 degree rear aspect lock. I can shoot them from above but I have to be behind them directly for it to even track.
so is the j7d still good, gonna pick it up in the sales.
with 10.7 BR it is. but if you just want to guarantee your ability to win matches to be not BR dependant you’re better off buying 75 bucks premium.
It’s good for what it is, it’s not some God tier equipment that people here are pretending it is

I’m not talking about you, talking about the others who act like having a Magic 1 means it is unbeatable and that it should be thrown higher up. It’s fine where it is at, especially considering that China is a forgotten nation most of the time. I say this as someone who plays China: it is a very underwhelming country in the air until maybe Rank VIII. I will let you know when I finally reach it, as of right now, I’m just grinding for helis.

test flew it, imo this is just an issue of BR compression. If you slot it att 11.0 it would start to see 12.0 and would indeed suffer, but you cant lower it either because it would stomp the competition…
Gaijin just needs to decompress BR’s faster and it would be a bit more balanced maybe? Idk
in the exact same way every 11.0 suffers? 11.0s that are often worse aircraft than the J-7D to begin with? pls. it’s not a real reason to keep it 10.7.

PL-5s, whatever. It’s a missile, it’s going to be good. I can complain about being smacked by AIM 9s, that doesn’t change that it’s a missile.
And? So the only way to rectify it is by throwing it into a BR it will suffer at? Makes perfect sense. There are plenty of other planes that should be put at 11.0, like both A-10As. AIM 9Ls facing 9.3-7 is completely unfair, more unfair that a buffed up MiG 21MF that can only eliminate players with PL5s from behind.

This is an attempt to dumb all missiles down to “just missiles”…? I don’t see the purpose.
It wouldn’t suffer more than any other 11.0. It would just fit in where it belongs currently.

I seriously don’t understand why you honestly believe a generic fighter needs to be at a higher BR, and there is no convincing you of anything. You are so obsessed with this jet that it is honestly stupifying. It is a generic MiG 21 with a better engine. That’s it. It has no other benefits beyond being a slightly faster and more manoeuvrable MiG 21. No decent bombs to bomb bases if you want, just a half decent fighter with half decent missiles that you are under the impression that it is the strongest thing at 10.7 and NEEDS to be thrown higher.
I still don’t see where you are finding these jets, because I was playing my MiG 21 Bis, and I have yet to have found a single J-7D. I found a J-7E a couple of games, but no D.
I am not going to continue arguing. You can believe this jet is the best thing since sliced bread, I will continue to treat it as a half decent premium that I will not buy since I have the A-5C which is a better jet to grind China with anyways.
