if i have to choose between 6 short range all aspect 30g or 4 medium range rear aspect 30g ill take the first one. both are similarly susceptible to flare in the same rate. what’s the point choosing rear aspect?

The R-60M allows more ability to eliminate players. With the PLs, you are forced to go behind and hope the guy is blind or has no countermeasures. With the R-60Ms, you can fire a missile close range to their face in a head on, you can fire from the side, you can even flank from behind. That’s the difference.

You can fire PL-5Bs from any aspect that isnt in the frontal cone of their plane too… It can do side aspect it doesn’t need a perfect rear lock.

still would rather have F-5A or any export J-7E Variants than J-7D as premium. maybe it’s just me hating on GSh-23 but that really ruins my opinion of this plane. Even the 60rd NR-30 felt more impactful.

Have you flown MiG-15bis or MiG-17s before?
If you have flown those, aiming GSh-23 should not be that hard because NR-23s and GSh-23s has same speeds afaik.
