If u change direction after you flare 1 flare is enough to dodge Aim-9M in nearly every jet in the game do you even know how a 9M seeker works and why they hardest to dodge side aspect??? Can an F-5C 1 flare a Matra 2??? No it cant because THAT missile dont shut off its seeker when it see’s a flare like 9M’s do … I kill lots of F-5C in my Mirage 5F it slays them and they cant ever catch me + im .7 BR lower with waaaay better missiles
The good thing of the F-5C is that is super easy to fly
5D chess proposal:
Just give J-7D fire bombs so less PL-5B users
Except the missiles are way better than R60M.
This is honestly a joke or something right?
I love how my post was removed 🤣 and all it was was a replay and me saying that j7d was perfectly balanced (huge sarcasm was obvious)
I noticed that
would probably work honestly
Single flare to get rid of it. Sub 0.8 km then probably more, tho i had it flared off even at 0.5 km
The main issue is what it faces in downtiers. At 10.7 and above? yeah its solid but not busted. But in a downtier? Lots of jets can do literally nothing to it, some like the Harriers can flare off missiles but are screwed in an actual dogfight. The F-105 (along with many other non-nimble attackers, that may or may not have countermeasures) are just free food.
and the same can be said imo of pretty much every 10.7 in a full downtier.
Supersonics, with good missiles and CMs vs subsonics with weak missiles and no CMs is never going to be a fair fight.
What is more needed is a decompression of 8.0-10.0. Maybe even pushing up to 11.0/12.0 a bit too. I think what the J-7D faces at and immediately around 10.7 is fine, its just the extreme downtiers which might be an issue.
I think I mostly agree, but the 7D has the great combination of 4 great IR missiles, with tons of speed that makes it really tough to deal with. At least something like a Crusader or Mirage is limited by its speed or quantity of missiles. But yes, in the end, decompression is the issue.
Not my experience, the missile is fast enough to get to you before it sees flares sometimes if you do not flare correctly, which is a trait not shared by most other missiles
In almost every single comment you’re ignoring the obvious problem of BR compression. The J-7D is anything but rare in 10.7 lobbies. In almost every game both teams end up having at least 3 of them. Their favorite tactic is to zoom climb to high altitude well before anyone else and engage with PL-7s and PL-5Bs which are hard to react to when they come down on you vertically while still trying to maintain situational awareness of fighters around you. Unless friendly J-7Ds or SARH equipped fighters counter them or the 7Ds give up their altitude advantage to turnfight, the battle is pretty much lost.
Whether they play like rats at low altitude or high altitude bnz, the J-7D has an advantage. It outclasses the F-5C in every way except guns and sustained turn rate while enjoying being at the same BR. Pretty much the same problem as the overtiered A6Ms. And no almost none of the J-7D players turnfight. Meaning that if they just keep bnzing you’re completely at their mercy especially if you’re in an F-5C. In an F-5C you have no advantage from start to finish because you can’t match a 7D’s climb rate or top speed and your only hope is to wait for a mistake while a J-7D has the advantage from takeoff.
I’ve been constantly shot down in my 5C by R60s, AIM-9Js, PLs and the like unless I flare in time. I’ve had the exact same experience in the F8U and F-8E. So your cold engine theory holds no water here. The J-7D needs to go up to at least 11.0 for the time being and possibly 11.3 if gaijin stops counting their money from gullible wallet warriors long enough to decompress jet BRs. I do agree that the F-5C has no business fighting 9.3s but again compression’s the problem, not the fighter itself.
Yes, let’s have a plane with only rear aspects at 11.0-3, that makes perfect sense. I mean, the equivalent to the J-7D is the MiG-21F-13, which only has rear aspects at 9.3, with the MiG-21SMT having R3Rs at 10.3.
Oh, because el generic MiG 21 beat you a few times, that means it needs to be beyond the MiG 21bis: arguably the best MiG 21 variant, besides the Bison in India.
It should be 11.0, but there’s no way it’s equal to the J-7E or J-8B. 11.0 is the best BR for it.
J-7E:
(and don’t forget about the potential more modern J-7 or mig-21 variants they could add)
Isn’t that the F5E.
Only rear-aspects and 11.3.
Well that one is more of a gunfighter that maintains 1000kph at turns.
Yeah I’d prefer the plane at to go back to 11.0 too. As far as I understand it has similar speed to mig 21 mf/smt, but pl5b is absurdly fast. I’ve even managed to approach people from above by a little and “curveball” by aiming it above the enemy and the smaller seeker fov(I’m pretty sure) will literally miss their flares and it’ll still kill them. I usually never ran into issues locking with them in somewhat side aspect either. Having all aspect capability is so overrated, maybe like <5 times in my total time playing this game have I gotten a head on IR kill, and a few were solely cause amx a-1a’s insane g overload.
Don’t get it back to 11.0.
Instead, give it fire bombs so less people use PL-5Bs and the problem won’t be as bad.
