One is an advantage that perfectly fits the core of the game’s meta.
The other is an advantage that’s barely relevant within the game’s meta save for exceptions.
That’s the difference.
This is like saying that Challenger 2 is better than T-80BVM because “Challenger 2 is a better sniper while T-80BVM is only better at brawling, so Challenger 2 being able to engage the T-80BVM from further away makes it better” when the meta is defined by brawling and not sniping on 90% of the maps and game modes.
yeah, that drag affects a lot on it’s performance especially when enemy is notching that 77-1 loses energy and speed so much more vs 120. Something what you just cant admit.
Strange, I think my 77-1’s are more like 77’s, never seen them turning 270, they are not micas or r73’s
But like i told you, stick your head on that linked topic first, and keep going.
It’s mica on 10km shots, reason why you dont want to those distances in busses called flanker, but you have to since your fox 3 is easy to dodge in under 20km shots also.
But now, keep plapping all that nonsence with your Russian bias glasses on and let’s keep back on this if they fix 77-1 wobbling and reduces drag to even near 120.
bvr in wt is mostly for show/unneeded as you can basically always close distance for higher percentage shots while being safer, the game doesnt advocate for using it, ppl just kinda do
People talk about 50km ranges as if they made AIM-120 superior, when all you need to do to evade such long range launches is to gently notch or pull a circle or two semi-circles.
That’s literally all it takes, and you get more than a minute to do it.
Meanwhile, AIM-120 won’t often even be able to pull enough to hit targets in ACTUAL gameplay engagement ranges while R-77-1/MICA-armed can hit you from 180-270° launch angles.
Yeah, you just dont need to actually do nothing more against 77-1 over 25km shots than just turn left, or right. Cant say it’s correct notching :D
I know , unfortunately, that is the biggest drawback what negates so many pros from that missile , and reason why it is still inferior on 120 in game performance.
You think r77-1 is Thrust vectoring missile? it wont pull those turns.
amraam supposed to superior in range yes but people forget multipath exist and amraams not using superior seeker it all the same only few times i died to an amraam in such range is when fox 3 came out new as i count it like 4 times maybe? but never again i died often around 10-15 km which any missile can pull that off even R-darter worse missile in the game can kill people and become deadly around 10-12 km
the real reason it dominates it nothing more than the fact people die to it often because AMRAAM are in almost every TT in the game except Russia and China have you ever see German Italian Sweden or even Britain complains about AMRAAM? most complain about AMRAAM came from Russian which is only single nation.
But I suck! My stats are mediocre and I die almost every match. Just not to such long range launches as people suggest to be so common- I die whenever the MICA/R-77-1 planes begin merging. Usually when trying to dogfight (often third-partied), head-ons, or generally within 20km.
When I see a red diamond pulling 90-180-270° turns at 1-7 km, I know I’m dead already within 1-5 seconds. Chaff won’t do anything and there’s no time to defend.
I should probably begin sweat-larping and trying to keep 25+km distances while launching AIM-120s, but I just find that so… boring. Specially when only half the missiles actually hit targets because they get unintentionally notched at some point within the 50 seconds it takes them to get close to their target.
When i hit someone at that range i often surprised and ask to myself how the hell people dying to such range which i found only two type of people die to such range
Base bombing or bomber like tornado
2.Total clown that don’t even bother listen to RWR
Ovrall range I achieved kill with amraam is around 15-20km range which other missile can achieve it as well especially MICA
