But difference is minimal. The equivalent would be if the German Typhoon had 80 internal CMs instead of 64 the other 2 had. Is it a difference? Yes. Would it require the Italian and British Typhoons to get a “compensation buff” be balanced? no.
In real life the German aesa gets AMK and the 10 degrees does matter because it allows you to fly away from enemies while guiding in missiles
Yes its only 10 degrees but its the 10 degrees that almost matter the most. These 10 degrees are the difference between gaining wiggle room while notching and not having any room for error or maneuvers.
Like i said its not a question of DOA vs king of the skies but is there, its noticable and in an update where Gaijin values balance over realism its stupid that this is the only part where they are ok with an obvious, objective disadvantage
they did the same with irst, claiming it makes it “unique” XDDD or something
And no, at around the 90 degree margin the difference isnt minimal. it it had max 50 gimbal and the others had 60, then it would be minimal.
AMK is a seperate package for the eurofighter from an AESA radar entirely. All members of the Eurofighter consortium are also slated to adopt the AMK kit on their fleets in the next few years so its not individual to germany.
If we are going to see AMK it can only come to all threee nations with the eurofighter. Id prefer it to be a seperate AESA eith AMK too so that theres more space away from the inferior top tier aircraft to the eurofighter.
UK or Italy hasn’t confirmed that they will buy and Install AMK on their Eurofighters especially since its still in development that will be decided closer to 2028 when it should be finished. So it is individual to Germany since Germany is the only country putting money into this and putting it on their aircraft (for tests/development but still on their aircraft).
I have mixed feelings on whether it should be on a new eurofighter because having 3 eurofighters back to back isn’t ideal but also it is a big enough modification that it could be on a new typhoon. It was accepted for these eurofighters so it could be a modification aswell so ¯\_(ツ)__/¯
It has though
AMK was funded by all nations and is part of Phase 4 enhancement
UK and others have already paided for phase 4 enhancement
Im tired of repeating myself here because of people trying to lie about the AMK so they can argue that it should be gate kept
Germany is just an early adopter. nothing more
All eurofighter consortium members have paid for phase 4 upgrades and AMK is part of it
Im sick of the german main gatekeeping from this update man.
There are other potential modifications in a year or 2 that could make a full new Typhoon worthwhile, but it would be pushing it quite a bit. It likely will be a modification for this Typhoon if/when it is needed and this airframe will be procedurally upgraded as needed (much like they did for something like the Phantom FGR2 for 3 years instead of adding anything new)
Im guessing the first will be next-gen AAMs (either IIRs or Meteors) but could be followed up by other mods like AMK. But AMK is too significant to be a single nation modification, at least without equally sized modifications being added to the others to compensate and it will likely be on the RAF and Italian Typhoons before long, likely will be announced within the next 18 months or so.
It might be included in the P4E but the UK parliament debated on the 12th November 2025 about the P4E and said “The full scope of the P4E capability package has not yet been agreed” meaning they don’t know if they are going to get everything included and that means you can’t tell if they are getting it or not until after development / closer to 2028.
And the Mk 2 Radar is also in P4E yet Germany isn’t getting that so just because it is in the programme doesn’t mean its guaranteed.
All Uks funding in the P4E went into the Mk 2 radar.
Because there are other upgrades the RAF is exploring. Such an expanded CM loadout, probably also Striker II HMD and other new loadout options like Spear-3 and Spear-glide.
The RAF P4E upgrade might be different to the German and Italian ones but that doesnt necessarily mean the AMK wont be taken. We simply dont know yet
Exactly nothing is final the only thing we do know is Germany has it and should get it.
But Germany should not get it in a Vacuum, the im-balance would be significant.
It would be akin to the RAF Typhoon getting ASRAAM whilst Italy and Germany were left with Aim-9Ms
It will come to all or not at all
And my point is if Britian is gonna get AMK Germany should get the Mk2 radar since it is a “consortuim project”.
I think it is onesided that the other 2 Eurofighters get Germany’s modifications but Germany can’t get theirs. It should be everyone gets the same thing.
and they are though,
All 3 nations are getting AESA
Germany is now getting PIRATE despite not wanting anything to do with it IRL
Major A2G loadout options such as Brimstone and Paveway IV are on all 3 even though only Britain operates them.
Theyve modeled a single difference. Germany has the Mk1 and Italy and Britian has the Mk2. And modeled those differences accordingly with the available information and game limitations which indicates a +/- 10 degree difference in FoR. Too small to have any balance impact.
did it now?
yes
