Hornets BR. It's too much, Gaijin

I’ve yet to see a single reason it should be the same br as rafale, f15e and eurofighter. The f15c is already objectively better at a lower br so tell me again how the f18c would magically break the game?

All early Su-27 /J-11 is garbage planes currently.
Due to poor radar first of all.
But even they accelerate very vell at mid-to-high altitudes. And then they can do real 💩💩

Some planes are just going to be better than others. That is how this game works, play the F15C if you want that experience it doesn’t have to be in the F18, just as the F18 does not need to be in the best possible BR for that jet’s flight model. It is competitive enough at 14.0. It can kill other jets with Aim120s, it can win dogfights against other jets around the same bracket, Maybe not the eurofighter or F16C,s but it doesn’t need to win those dogfights. I would recommend trying to learn the aircraft and get better at playing it rather than lowering it’s BR so people have an easier time in it.

Or perhaps we could just put the aircraft at a br that’s its more suited to? It’s comparable to many 13.7 aircraft already. The finnish one doesn’t even get hmd for christ’s sake.

putting the f18C US on 13.7 is complete madness, There are other planes that have speed problems, the JF17 is much slower than the F18, the Rafale flying on the deck has structural limitations, it even has an engine to go beyond Mach 1.1 on the deck, but the fuselage does not allow it.
This plane is indeed 14.0 with its kit, it will have a different function than the f15C/E, it will not fly high suppressing the enemy team, it will fly low or in a support role.

jf17 is 13.3 and its still faster than a hornet… So its a support fighter? that seems to be another way of saying bad.

Comparable does not mean the same, if I were a U.S main only I would be thankful the F18 hasn’t been nerfed like the Su30Sm has been twice already (in weight and thrust vectoring/flight model), or I would just be thankful I am getting any new jet at all because U.S did not need another jet in their already stacked lineup, yeah the finnish one is in a bad state compared to the U.S F18C, but they have already came out and publicly said that’s just how it has to be until they get an upgraded model in a future update.

So we should all go along with Gaijin’s wonderful balancing decisions because historically, they’ve done just dandy.

Do you consider the GripenC UK/Mirage/J10 as bad aircraft?

Because they are support aircraft… These aircraft are not bad for me at least

They don’t have the same role as an F15, and they don’t have the same impact as an F15 or EF, but that doesn’t make them bad.

No, the gripen is fine. hardly a support fighter. one of the stronger 13.7 and one of the fighters clearly superior to hornet at a lower br. J10 is superior to hornet as well.

you are playing their game after all, you can always take a break, not play the f18, or find a new game if you don’t like how they are running their own game

I have many things I don’t like about Gaijin’s balancing, I just don’t rant and rave about it like U.S mains do, and If I hate the state that my current favorite nation is in, I play a different nation, or just find a new game to play until the next update like a normal person

I’m not a u.s. main. I just think the hornet should be at a br its just going to wind up at anyway when it does poorly. U.S. mains will drive the wr down on that one and the finnish one will be brought down due to it’s own shortcomings.

I totally agree, make MiG29 14.0 and F-18 Hornet 12.0 8)

It has missile count, strong AOA, a solid radar, AMRAAMs as the ARH, which are still the golden standard, and more than any 13.7, it’s not a good idea to have it facing down into the 12.7 range.

Speed isn’t the only factor that matters in top tier though, people are isolating it as if the F-18C late is going to be immediately useless because it’s not as fast as a Strike Eagle.

Is it slow relative to other top tier jets? Yes, but does it still have enough speed to notch incoming ARHs? Yes, I will point out that the Rafale, which while being a “slow” jet on the deck where it wants to be due to the short range on the MICAs is still considered a competitive jet, and it only has 8 hardpoints and the radar has the IRST bug, the F-18C late will have 12 hardpoints, longer ranged missiles, better AOA.

My answer to the speed stuff is to try to stay low where notching is easier after you launch a few AMRAAMs off at the start of the match, since you absolutely have the speed/AOA to hit an early game notch, there’s basically nothing at top tier (13.3+) that can’t.

Gripen also is the same in all these categories except missile count at 13.7 though, while possibly having even better flight performance now with the funny button though

The FM difference between the two jets looks negligable, and I’d say 0.3 BR difference for having double the missile count is warranted.

Yeah but the Rafale actually has a useful kit for low and close range fighting. Better flight performance, better radar, better close range missiles.
