Ho-Ri Prototype and Production too high

Type 61 and STA-3 are both taller and significantly slower than the M46. Their protection is laughable and their primary advantage when compared to M46 is… having a rangefinder. That’s their sole advantage, in all other areas they are inferior or equal.

You know, if those shells were buffed and those heavies were to be dropped in BR the gameplay will pretty much be the same as now since a lot of things will lolpen them again? Except they will be practically impossible to fight against unless you flank them point blank if you happen to be in an uptier.

It will also just create a new problem, if your teammates that have the counter are all gone, what can you even do?

Only if the KT doesn’t know about the IS-4’s delete-me-button.

Don’t say silly things. IS-3/4/6 can be penned frontally by even by autocannons via the drivers hatch weakness. Posted plenty of videos of me doing it with Flakpanzers 37mm (80mm pen rounds). Look how fast it evaporates:

You can pen IS-3/4/6 frontally with KT via that weakspot and it will destroy said IS. Ho Ri is the same. Obviously, if you’re using something like a KT, you can’t just spam away at a target like the Flakpanzer. You need to make your shot count. But this is not such a tough task when those 122mm tanks take 20 seconds to reload. Just play smart.

Okay I was genuinely unaware this even was a thing, because you don’t see IS-4Ms all that damn often. It looks like the round reflected into the hull off the driver’s hatch somehow.

Some will LOLpen, but not all.

APCR will still struggle against slopes - as it historically did. Same with sharp-nosed APDS. A superheavy at moderate to long ranges would potentially be able to angle enough to deflect them with intelligent gameplay provided the map gave the room to move and maneuver. Only the 105mm T29E4, 120mm T17E1, and 120mm Shot L1G would probably be able to still pen even with angling.

Artillery guns would be the ultimate “and fuck you too” counter to heavy tank spam. As they historically were.

If the heavy in question is something that’s a miserably slow rolling pillbox like a Tortoise, T95, T28, Maus, E-100, Black Prince, Ferdinand, Jagdtiger, etc., opponents really should be forced to flank those to kill them with normal rounds. I don’t see the issue here. You have the mobility advantage to go around them, so as long as the map itself is large and complex enough to give you the space to go around them, I really don’t see the issue here.

If a team wastes all their uptier-insurance artillery guns trying to brawl with them despite massive sizes, thin armor, and no agility, then that team deserves to lose no differently than a typical blind Tiger spam team does today, or a typical overconfident American team spams so many planes they run out of treads on the ground and get overrun while buzzing back and forth overhead. Again, no issue here - they have all the tools to help themselves and chose not to use them correctly. The game would take absolutely zero sympathy on them and quite possibly make fun of them intentionally to shame them into utter paralyzing silence until they fucking learn or leave.

Just like the community collectively did to all the History Channel Tiger Drivers years ago. We already have a template for it.

My goal is to make all the tools actually work and let things rearrange themselves where they may. If I choose to roll out a slow superheavy like a Doom Turtle, an artillery piece sending me to kingdom come is more era-appropriate and balancing than some speed demon car spewing HEATFS.

Woah, what about planes that can just bomb them out of existence?

Don’t take this personally but I despise you and everyone else whom uses the Coleian. That thing is so busted.

You don’t see IS-3/4/6 all that often because in the grand scheme they suck.

Gaijin added all sorts of vehicles that have HEAT-FS, and have the worst reloads at their brs.

So it’s no wonder they’re not played often. Combine it with other factors, and there is no point in playing them.

Especially because their balance is all around their armor, meanwhile armor is irrelevant at that point, unless your a Maus which isn’t much better, but at least its reload isn’t 3 years and it has forward launched smoke grenades

To answer your question directly - the rolling pillboxes are not meant to be able to counter those. Rather like any plane, countering those is squarely the job of an SPAAG or Fighter plane. At most maybe a T95 could potentially try using its .50cal, or the Tortoise using its dual BESA cupola, but again - they aren’t meant to be able to counter aircraft.

And see, ironically I have more or less figured out that by rebuffing HEATFS, it actually helps and not harms the position of those Russian tanks.

Why? Because HEATFS doing actual damage forces the vast majority of the platforms flinging it to soar up in BR, while at the same time lowering the stats of all those Russian heavies to where those end up dropping somewhat. In my personal experience the IS-6 is flat-out better than the IS-3 or IS-4M and equivalent to the T-10A. Thus I’d see the 3 lowered to 6.7 to give Russia a proper heavy centerpiece of their still-missing 6.7 deck, lower the 4M to 7.0 to match its Maus/E-100 natural enemies in my proposal, and depending on how much BR decompression occurs to force upward everything 8.0+ at least two whole BRs to make sufficient room to move up most of the HEAT launchers, the IS-6 and T-10A could sit both at 7.7 potentially.

I may sound crazy to some of you - but at this point after seeing how nerfing HEATFS only made it worse for the heavies in general by causing tons of it to flood into heavy tank BR ranges, why not pivot to rebuffing it and spacing stuff out instead?

I have the same opinion of APCR, APDS, HESH, big HE, SPAAG, and CAS. Nerfing is helping exactly nobody on a permanent basis - so why keep doing it?

So other tanks should struggle against them but we have no issue with planes destroying them without any issue…. Right.

Lol, it does that to people. I understand. But it also feels extra rewarding when you take one out.

Not if you know where to shoot. In my experience most IS4 players expect you to be a dumb German main and will underestimate you. Some don’t even know you can pen them frontally at all. I’ve had my fair share of them calling me a cheater (or in the kinder cases, asking me how tf I penned them).

You’d just have to keep using APHE, which gives you multiple options to frontally pen and kill it.

Multiple buttons!

You can pen the top edge of the driver’s hatch. You can pen the breech which will usually not kill the crew. And you can pen a specific spot of the LFP (in the middle near the bottom, exactly between the spare tracks) which will achieve a one hit kill. The latter is my go to shot in KT, but driver’s port is also reliable.

It’s not hard, it’s just annoying when 2-3 of the 37mms cause your barrel to explode, then you get to sit there and repair.

You might be able to HMG his turret depending on the range.

jog on

prototype is just 155 HE fodder

I think you included a few extra words

more accurate would be
“prototype is just fodder”

Let’s not go too far. Proto is not fodder, it’s just not OP.

While grinding for his big bro, I played 29 matches in it, with a low level crew and only the Type 61 and a couple planes as backup. Hardly ideal conditions for influencing matches. End result was 58% win rate, a 3.3 K/D (3.2 if you only count ground kills) and a 2.6 KpS.

Those are perfectly adequate stats and certainly better than I got in the Type 61 B. The vehicle’s doing fine.

HoRi as said countless time aint even close to be good let alone being op

There are other thing to look for in this game than the HoRi XD

Wdym like every WT player with at least 10 brain cells gets 7-8 kills every 2nd game. It’s good if you know how to play casemades, not OP

Skill issue cant kill a panther at 7.0

Proto is good, definitely not OP. Prod is a different story though.
