Historical Battle Rating discussion

F-15A in game is the 80s or 90s iteration bc of the radar, countermeasures and weaponry
no idea how that would fit in at the moment but thats just info thrown out

So world war mode?

F-15A is the 1985 National Guard one. Based on the idea provided by the thread creator, it would be at 11.0 - 11.3

Maus is 4.3 hypothetically, and so far on my chart there is not HEAT-FS, (the M36B2 is 4.0)

Why 11.0? The F-15A would be 9.0 and the F-15C MSIP II and F-15E are 11.0

Never played it so idk

What makes you say that?

It was proven that the current F-15A is the 1985 National Guard variant 'cause if the countermeasures and the AIM-9M

The F-15J(M) being a higher BR then an F-35:

The Gripen E in a matchmaker by itself:

The MiG-21 Bison vs F-22 & Rafale:

Alpha Jets vs F-16s: (Bonus Thai Alpha Jets versus F-22s/35s)

The list of genuinely hilarious matchups goes on. HIstorical matchups are sadly, outside of a finely curated selection, a terrible idea.

Can you provide some more information please?

The F/A-18C has the wrong year

It should be from 2005/2006 because that is when it got its hmd

Thanks, ill fix that :D

For future reference to everyone, i would like at least one snippet of the source used for the claim, it just makes it more refutable :D

Thank you!

The same goes for the F16c F15c and F15e

They all got their HMD in the early 2000s to 2010
As it had an early production run in 2003 and entered serial production in 2004

JHMCS is a derivative of the DASH III and the Kaiser Agile Eye HMDs, and was developed by Vision Systems International (VSI), a joint venture company formed by Rockwell Collins and Elbit (Kaiser Electronics is now owned by Rockwell Collins). Boeing integrated the system into the F/A-18 and began low-rate initial production delivery in fiscal year 2002. JHMCS is employed in the F/A-18A++/C/D/E/F, F-15C/D/E/S/K/SG/SA/QA/EX, and F-16 Block 40/50/50+/60/70 with a design that is 95% common to all platforms.[31]

I can give proper sources once iam home in a few hours

the article itself is from 2010, which puts every US fighter with a HMD in the timeframe of 2002 and 2010

F-15E ingame is from ~2009

this website has a nice timeline

It saw combat for the first time in 2003 during operation Iraqi Freedom in the forward cockpit of US aircraft. The United States and allied nations through FMS have selected the JHMCS for their fighter aircraft. Boeing delivered the first JHMCS to Australia in August 2006, Swiss JHMCS-equipped F/A-18 first flight took place in May, Finland’s F/A-18 did it in June and Canadian F/A-18s are expected to fly with the JHMCS in September 2006.

On June 11, 2004, the US Department of Defense awarded Boeing a $86 million contract for first full-rate production lot of JHMCS. The lot includes more than 250 cueing systems for the United States and four international customers with deliveries due to begin in March 2005. Current estimates suggest that the total number of JHMCS to be ordered will excess 2,000 units. In early 2005, Boeing began testing of the JHMCS into the aft cockpit of the US Navy’s F/A-18D/F Hornet. Both pilot and weapon systems operator equipped with JHMCS will represent a significant increase in combat effectiveness and survivability.

On June 3, 2005, the Pentagon awarded Boeing the second full rate production contract covering 401 JHMCS valued at $82 million and to be complete by December 2007. This contract will provide the JHMCS to the US Air Force (F-15 and F-16), the US Navy (F/A-18) and foreign military sales (FMS) countries. The FMS countries were Poland, Finland, Australia (Royal Australian Air Force), Switzerland and Oman.

In November 2005 Boeing started flight testing at Naval Air Warfare Center China Lake, California, of the JHMCS integrated with the aft cockpit on the F/A-18F fighter aircraft. Integration work on a twin-seat F/A-18 began in January 2005 on an F/A-18D. Super Hornet’s weapon systems officers (aft seat) are expected to receive the JHMCS capability beginning in late summer 2006. In February 2006 Boeing was awarded the third JHMCS full rate production contract valued at $97 million on behalf of the United States Air Force F-15 and F-16, US Navy F/A-18, Turkish F-16C, Dutch F-16, Polish F-16C, Australian F/A-18, Swiss F/A-18, and Canadian F/A-18 aircraft.

not really a source but if my memeory serves me right the F-15C ingame is from ~2002 and the F-16C from ~2006

Thanks, ill be sure to fix them :D

When you say F-15C are you meaning the F-15C MSIP II?

Apart from the fact that Gaijin would never be foolish enough to implement this idea, I believe it would become the most disliked battle mode ever.

it isnt really a MSIP II ingame, it has the wrong name

let me ask my local guy with the f-15 tism to get you more accurate information
