My user name comes from when I was trying to get a user name for XBL. I was hitting random and looking for a shark user name. TinStar came up and then Star shark came up so I put them together for TinStarShark. I have been using that user name for the last 17 years.
The profile picture I use I have been using since Birds Of Steel, which is the game War Thunder is originally based on. I use it because it has an F4F Wild Cat in the background.
Most of the time I don’t decorate my vehicles, and when I do it’s most of the time meaningless. Sometimes I will put a 32 on a vehicle because it was my number in Chromehounds.
Nickname comes from R6S, an encounter with a very salty player in the other team that couldn’t let go of all chat made me come up with it.
During the OG operation suffer I went for the IS-7, and it was fairly unpleasant, so I switched my nickname to accurately reflect my current state. The only downside of it is that people assume I’m from the US because of the imperial system.
The PFP is whatever nation’s tank I’m currently playing a lot, used to be one of a Soviet tanker in front of a T-34 that looked like Schwarznegger, but it’s probably been altered cause he no longer look like him…
As far as vehicle customization, I generally go for a star of David on hull and turret, as it draws out our resident “radical historical accuracy enjoyers”.
I remember you from the Beta days, if indeed you are still the same Flying Doctor who used to be on the old Pre Battle Chat they used to have. I miss that chat, because you could discuss vehicles, only planes then and learn a lot. I used to play as Doc Holliday.
Well done on your camos mate!
Yeah, I get that. I have about 7 months left of a year long chat ban because of two trolls I let have it, and I happened to be having a few sips that night as well…
Im from the US, but whenever I fly the Kfir Canard, I feel I should go after every German plane first LOL.
Thank you for contributing.
I like your Nick…for some reason it reminds me of Union Gen. Sherman from US Civil War.
He was one of the first proponents of Total War.
One of his quotes was, “If they want war, we will give them all they want”
Mate, Im an 82nd Airborne Officer, and this is the only game Ive ever played lol, I found this game in the Beta days looking for a good chess game. But yeah, I get that.
My grandfather was a WW2 pilot and so I fell in love with this game, now I have F15s, Su27s and all that, I get the gaming…its relaxing and its a way to kill a bunch of ***s and have some “out time”
I hate to admit to peers that I play a video game and am a member of a community, but come come to find out, most of them are too!
Good Luck Mate, and take it to them. I look at Nicks sometimes on the way to battle and wonder why people chose them. Thank you for contributing.
Im not big on tea mate, but I love coffee…Well done mate! btw…I have heard people say tea has more caffeine than coffee, however, tea is about 50% the caffeine content of brewed coffee. But its more about taste to the connoisseur!
Well done mate I like the way people choose their own nicks.
All of my planes have a flash on the left wing - this is an homage to the old Royal Navy, where a commander had a single epaulet on the left shoulder, a junior captain one on the right shoulder, and a full captain on both.
I feel very very new and incompetent still, so currently, I have the flash on the left “shoulder”…
Well, for my PFP I have some familial relation to Patton so there’s that.
As for my gamertag - Well, the Gundam franchise is one of my personal favorites and I do have German blood in my veins so it’s just the tag I’ve decided on until I decide to change it a few years from now if I get the urge to change tags again.
As for vehicle customization, I like to keep it in a middle ground of realistic and historical provided the game has the decals I need and can use. Unless it’s for 2 particular nations I have no particular care for - Then I’ll slap US decals on the vehicles or decals from the vehicle’s father nation - That makes those 2 nation’s mainers very salty. It’s always entertaining.
