Here is why map sizes are shrinking and will continue to shrink

Well, considering my post not liking the small maps has way more likes than your comment here, I’d say it’s the majority showing you not speaking loud.

And the ironic thing is that I like both, large spaces and confined areas like towns. I love Poland because it has both. But many of you just want to put people down or want your way only. How about both? How about if you only like town you just go town, and leave the hills and flanks for the ones who wanna be there?

Sometimes the quiet majority shows its agreement when you make a good point, however they’re not the ones complaining on the forum because they’re otherwise happy.

We can all be otherwise happy and complain too, that doesn’t mean we hate the game or the company.

I don’t like the smaller map changes recently, but I love the weather effects and the amount of detail in the environment and game overall, as well as the vehicles. So we can be happy and not happy at the same time. If we want a near perfect, almost complete game, feedback and criticism and ideas are needed. They may not be wanted, but it’s needed. And from what I’m seeing and hearing, a majority is not happy with the recent changes making some of the maps smaller and cutting out areas of the maps. And ultimately in this particular post, it’s my opinion and how I feel, it’s not up to me nor my ability to change anything. It’s up to Gaijin to hear all these opinions and feedback and it’s up to them to make any corrections / changes or not do anything about it.

We could argue about this all day, who is the majority, who is the minority. Clearly the only 2 ways it could be found out or solved is to send a poll to every single player game wide, not only on this forum because most players don’t even come here, or Gaijin could just read the feedback here and judge by the liked response to each post / comment and use this data. But unless you go by a poll from everyone or go by the likes on our comments, there’s no way you nor I could ever truly know where the majority is. It’s just us using our own observations.

No, apparently they do affect map map selection.

I’m not talking about general happiness. I’m talking about this specific thing. People complain about specific things that they don’t like while not complaining about things they like. The majority of people who are happy with close quarter maps aren’t complaining about them because we have a good amount of them. It doesn’t mean that they can’t be complaining about something else, however they wouldn’t be showing themselves here because they’re happy with it.

Source for that claim?

I’m using gaijin as a source, therefore there is no point arguing. You don’t have a source.

Which is basically what the Like/Dislike/Ban system exists for, gathering data. Ditto for analyzing things like how and where people play on maps, and all that other data generated by matches.

Large Maps back plz?

When I want small maps, I want White Rock Fortress back. (Gaijin, please add White Rock Fortress back). Not large maps converted into small maps that get rid of all of the viable and important points on a map.

My source, is my post that I was referring to and the amount of likes it has, as well as this thread here. My source is Gaijin as well, this very forum we’re on that you speak of. 22 people liked my post complaining about small maps, 3 people liked a comment from someone disagreeing with me.

So there’s your source. Nothing for me to argue about. I tried being logical and having an open conversation with you, but apparently you can’t reciprocate. So whatever see it how you want to.

What is sample size.

Yeah the amount of likes on a comment isn’t real evidence other than some bing bong theory. It won’t be anyhow defeating gaijin as a source.

No it is absolutely not.

First, like others have already told you, you have to use premium to even have a choice of liking more than 4 maps, and can only dislike 1 map w/out premium. That is no way to get a full representation of the data.

All they have to do is listen to the feedback here, or send out a poll on the game screen like they do the daily login rewards that we click on, and just ask everyone what we prefer. But only if they want to of course.

As someone else said, with the amount of complaints here against smaller maps, I’d say that logically stands out as a sign and a clue and real world data that it’s an issue. And the amount of people liking these posts. You just can’t argue against that.

Where are these players??? Also just because players don’t like Red Desert with its atrocious color scheme and map layout doesn’t mean that players dislike large maps generally.

Glad someone said the problem wasn’t the map size and was the color scheme and map layout. Everyone thought it but no one really said it or made it clear to Gaijin lol.

This forum is representative of nothing, that’s literally how every single online gaming community has ever been. You trying to claim that two dozen likes on a niche forum post is… I haven’t seen something this silly in a while.

Even the WT reddit, with a far larger userbase than here, doesn’t end up being properly representative of the overall community.

Numbers, just like science, is evidence. If you can see it, it’s there. If you don’t see it, it’s not there. A post or comment with a lot of likes vs a post or comment with very few likes, is data. Same as a poll. It represents something. Read all my words in my comments instead of picking out points to critique. I plainly said we both could be guessing here, but numbers do matter and they show something.

Numbers of posts complaining about this as well as numbers of people showing their like of this complaint. It’s not rocket science.

Churchill looking at that map “cringe” lol

it represents the amount of people that have liked a comment, thats it. You can’t use 22 likes on a comment to say that “this is clear proof of how majority thinks this way” when there is a primary source that says otherwise. You’re pulling ridiculous assumptions from there. What if i went to a church, asked 10 people if they like the idea of merging religion and law together, they liked it then i said “christians want religion and law together”. when in reality majority of people belonging to that church would have had disagreed. Just because you theorize that 22 likes mean that it must be the majority on your side does not mean that the majority is actually on your side. Did you know that majority of ground* players in war thunder actually play arcade and are not even active on forums?

I’m arguing with the people who specifically are saying they apparently prefer the map changes and like the complete cqc better, and they’re not wanting to hear anyone complaining about changing it back to larger areas. Or else they wouldn’t be arguing with us when we complain about these changes. Telling us “we’re in the minority”.

So they’re the ones who don’t like larger maps. Understand?

The maps should all be one straight line so we don’t have anyone trying to avoid face to face engagement.

Not “everyone”, as I like Red Desert and apparently so does our famous friend @RazorVon aka @AlvisWisla. Yeah I like Red Desert. So you see, we all have different opinions. Maybe you should “dislike” or “ban” Red Desert if you don’t like it.
