Yes I saw the footage, thing is the CCIP doesn’t work like that for every airplane, using the F-4EJ ADTW for example, I always need to get higher then I point my nose down to be able to see the CCIP,
In the Su-39 I don’t because, either is weapon, which I believe it’s or the design of the sight, where in the F-4EJ ADTW is obstructed by the huge panels and in the Su-39 is easier to see what’s ahead.
Regarding your problem if you have any footage I could try to help but I’m not in-game at the moment to try to replicate and send you a answer.
Using “drop bomb” or “bomb series” and “weapon selection” with “ripple quantity”
It use to bug when you used them toegether, so they added a block. Disable weapon selection and bomb series will work or you can swap to using ripple quantities with weapon selection release multiple bombs
CCIP in game is just an aiming point, on aircraft like the Buc S2 this is a small dot in the HUD, on more advanced aircraft like the Harrier Gr7 or Typhoon, you’ll get a lot more symbology.
CCRP will automatically release the bomb at the right time when you set the aircraft up properly to do so
It also sounds like you are somehow accidentally entering CCRP instead of staying in CCIP
Here is a guide for how to use CCRP and also includes the settings needed to exit it as well
If Id hazard a guess, you need to change your cockpit sight mode to select “bombs” and make sure it isnt “bombs (auto)” That will give you the symbology seen in that video
Also, to double check, you arent running drag/retarded bombs right?
I may have a few other questions but I wanted to come on and say thank you for the help.
I’m working through a few other things but your response helped tremendously.
My main problem was not realizing that “not selecting” bombs was by default CCIP. In the status window/bar in the top righthand corner of the screen, I thought a curser had to be next to bombs for it to work… just like missiles.
Once I realized that, I started making worlds of progress. I’m working may way through a few things and I may have a few more questions, I hope you will be gracious enough to help me some more.
You should still get CCIP with bombs selected (>bombs) provided you do not have a bomb target selected: either selected on the map, selected by toggling the pre-defined targets, or selected by putting the sight over the target and marking it. If you have a target selected you get CCRP, even if you’ve already bombed that target. You need to deselect ‘mission bombing target’ by setting a key for that. If you were always getting CCRP when you selected bombs it seems likely you had a target selected.
I’d strongly suggest to not use [Drop bomb] and [Drop Bomb Series], but instead switch to using the weapons selector ([Switch secondary weapons]) and use [Fire secondary weapon]. For this you will need [Switch secondary weapon] and to set ripple quantity, [Secondary weapon riple quantity].
I’ve always used the switch button but never tried the fire button.
I’ll do it today and see if it works for me.
The main reason I was hesitant about doing it is because I use the seeker button binded to the fire missile button and I was concerned it would interfere firing my other weapons.
You have to not have chosen the wappon, you need to have salected no wappon while dropping serie, only single bomb can be dropped while haveing selected bomb. It is stupide and should ve removed.
Little note, sometimes forgotten: CCIP depends a lot also on speed and altitude of the aircraft, and type of bomb.
If you for example fly low in a slow Warthog, without diving, and try to use high drag bombs, the CCIP pipper will probably not show / be outside your HUD FOV, making it impossible to aim that way.
So in general I avoid high drag bombs, as they offer practically zero advantage over their low drag counterparts but have the mentioned disadvantage because of the CCIP pipper.
Literally the only case where I use low drag bombs is with the Tornado, as this allows me to carry 6 LD and 6 HD bombs, so enough to easily kill two bases, which is not possible with 12 of the same type and the available ripple quantities…
