Helicopter's max BR needs to be increased

If you cannot kill a ka52 in your spaa (assuming no other ground/air threats) you have a severe lack of skill.

Say that in front of the faces of top SPAA players in competitive squadrons.

Explain to me how a ka-52 (or any other heli than fnf) can counter a COMPITENET spaa player.

Those could go up as well, especially Mi-28NM.
Z-10 could go up mostly for it’s AA capabilities though.

I’ll link you the thread about a similar topic, which discussed about it.
Give me a minute or two to find it.
I was explaining that to @MotorolaCRO not long ago.

Here you go.

Here’s some examples:

FnF helicopters are good at ignoring AAs as their efficiency won’t drop at all if AA is present on the battlefield. Their problem lies in FnF missiles not being as reliable as Vikhrs at killing ground targets, which reduces their potential.

It’s all about tradeoffs, without AA around, Ka-52 is by far the best helicopter you can use.
If AA is around, I’d give an edge to FnF slingers when used by 99.9% of the community.

99.9% XD
Those Kamov players I’ve been talking about surely are one of a kind, huh.

Considering WT has hundreds of thousands of players I’d say 99.9% isn’t that far off haha.

This only works because they are in a squadron battle. If you are in a normal game a spaa would be way out of their spawn + may have cover to hide behind. This is also very map dependent.

I mean sure, it is definitely map dependent.
But you will never be able to kill a kamov who is alert and aware.
Shooting a missile at him will just make them go back down to cover, and expose your location.
After that, it’s only a matter of time before they find you distracted, or use the tactic I’ve been telling you guys about.

Some maps are so great for helicopters that SPAA cannot even stop them from killing their ground, unless they’re around the capture points.

I fly a lot with the Tiger. And I have to agree. Because I don’t fly it because it plays particularly well, but because I like it, even though it (more precisely its PARS) can sometimes make you despair.

And yes. You can still use it even if there is a PANTSIR on the field. But you are welcome to check it out. My last flight with the Tiger produced one kill. A PANTSIR that was finally destroyed after the 3rd attack with a total of 5 PARS. During the last attack I was up too long (careless out of desperation), was shot at by the same PANTSIR and flew into the ground in a wild evasive maneuver. This is everyday life with 12.0 FnF helicopters. Anyone who says they have to go up in the BR isn’t playing them. Sorry.

Wouldn’t this just end in a stalemate though? The heli would constantly be hiding and the spaa would be too. Anyways FnF helis can just pop up, fire a bunch of missiles then duck. I do not know if it is possible to intercept 6+ missiles (PARS) while the heli can still peek up and fire more.

You’d think that, but if the Kamov sees that the SPAA is hiding from the vikhirs, the experienced kamov player tends to swing their vikhirs around and to one of the exposed tanks that the SPAA is no longer protecting.
Then it can go back down or keep attacking the ground until the spaa peaks (to which it can switch to the spaa again last minute and kill it).

This wasn’t specifically aimed at FnF helicopters, it’s more of a decompression thing.

This is true, but the problem with PARS is that they can be intercepted fairly easily because of how slow and out-in-the-open they are (albeit not all of them can be intercepted at once a lot of the time), and most of the time you’d need to launch two at each target to be remotely effective at killing.
This especially is a problem on maps with lots of buildings / foliage.

Let me give you an example of this.
Be right back.

Currently you definitely need more than 2 hits with the PARS. I’ve been observing this since the mini update from the day before yesterday.

It seems that the at least small probability of overpressure damage has completely disappeared.

In a normal game, I tend to see quite a lot of SPAAs still being in their spawn, but I’m not sure about you.

I mark their top spawn as that’s the only spawn that could technically see me as I go up and away from the mountain to get a better view over B and A.
As you can see, you can easily pick people off without even having to deal with backline SPAA.
Frontline SPAA are near to none - as most of the time they can’t be bothered, or they cannot get to the center of the map without being at risk of dying to enemy tanks.

Yes, i love using atas Aim92 against typhoons.
