Ground SB has to be more immersive

You absolutely can do that if you aren’t using a mouse joystick.

I think your ideas are beyond the scope of WT currently, and it will alienate some players from sim. Making crew skills more important is bad, because they are pay to win.

Some sort of multicrew would be much better to implement.

I agree that while it is a cool concept, War Thunder is not that kind of game. It was always about having direct control over your vehicle. It has always been a shooter, but instead of a person, you control a plane/tank/ship, you become the machine.

A tank should be harder to control in sim, the same way a plane is harder to control in sim, but that’s. You still should have full control over your vehicle. Otherwise you just wouldn’t be able to play ships at all.

Not it isn’t. The games wiki states it outright.

You are not(!!!) in direct control of the vehicle in WT at all outside of air sim.

You are guiding the instructor and the instructor is in control not you.

https://wiki.warthunder.com/Instructor/How_the_instructor_works

This isn’t even a secret. It’s also my main issue with tank sim, that there is no direct control.

That applies to aircraft only, tanks don’t have an instructor. Unless you count gears changing automatically as an instructor.

Edit: Automatic gear change does count as an instructor according to War Thunder wiki, I guess it could be disabled in sim.

Turret roation speed is not directly controlled by the player.

You are mistaken.

It even states it outright:

“So what about ground vehicles, you ask? Yes, in ground warfare, the Instructor directly controls the ground vehicle itself.”

Direct quote from the wiki

also adding remove the healing in Sim ground forces.
Irather have bleed out and have crew die slowly if they are wounded and are under 50%.

Make it more chalanching please stop copying RB 1 to 1

Sim is so refreshing. People stopped shooting my lfp they discovered there are other tank components.

Really the best mode too bad i have to wait for a proper event

After trying out Enlisted for the first time… and uninstalling the garbage 3 hours later, I do wonder how the hell it’s possible that Enlisted does tanks so much better than Warthunder.

Because tehy took ideas from sim and our wishes and did put them in enlisted. Dream was to have infatry in warthunder.
Sea land air combined in WT but it was decied to seperate instead. Its sad.

WW2 was mainly infatry, all the motorized and mechanized forces now.
The IFV´s in WT lack 50% of there fierpower beacause of no inf.

Hope sustains the WT sim player.
I ratehr see WT be leading in progress then just coping other games.
They have to copy WT not the other way around.

This is nto true. WT throu its three game modes has the best accesbility. Arcade is teh first foot in, then you go RB and if you evlove you get in to Sim.

Now there is no real reason to get in to sim from RB because sim is just a copy of RB.

Sim has to stand out, nit just by tryhards and sweats, not just by grinders that farm RP and SL.

A whole otehr level of imersion and skill that you dont need in other game modes but skills you lelarnd in teh previus ones can be and have to be used in sim.

Even without infantry it’s just so much more immersive, not having third person view, having to open the hatch and exposing the crew, the sounds, navigating around cool looking maps and scenery unlike the mostly barren wasteland that is Warthunder.

Also a better UI.

I forgot that mouse aim is also an instructor thing. I think that was discussed here already and it’s a good idea to add mouse joystick or something to control the turret.

Unfortunately they nuked that game and made a br system like in War Thunder, ruining the immersion.

It seemed fun initially when they trick you into thinking you’re not playing against bots, and then you get thrown into the deep end and the USSR just steamrolls matches in the most unbalanced way I have seen in games in a long time, and everyone just seems to accept this and plays the steamroll nation… couldn’t even play Japan as it’s completely dead… and despite the worst UI in gaming history, this was a priority shortly after I finished the tutorial.

Never had premium of course, but it already expired.

Force manual gears (not necessarily clutch) and remove commander view unless you model him and make him killable. Then make the gunner view the standard view and have it work similarly to the Battlefield games. Also give us historical gunsights I have zero idea why they’re not built into the game yet.

Also improve the crew voice overs and hit effects. Make them panic somewhat when hit and I want to feel like I’ve bounced a shot or if I’ve been damaged. Have the screen shake and blur depending on the damage/size of the round.

This one is a bad idea for accessibility. What you could do is introduce it as a toggable option with the default set to no, and then if you want the shaky cam and ringing from the concussion you can choose to enable it for yourself.

Accessibility is provided by arcade and RB, sim is the pinacle. Your test of skill.

I would even go so far and remove the ability to repair in the field.

No track changes, no breach fixing, no engine fix.
Team mates have to pull you back in to the spawn area and only there you can repair and replace wounded or dead crew. If the back area for SPAA reload gets added it would be perfect to do it there.

This would change the pase of matches even more.
Encourage more teamplay, punish lone wolf players.
Tacical gameplay would be encouraged instead of rush B.

track some one and let team mates get him. Players need to drive back if they can to the spawn area to do repairs and leave camper post that and so forth.

Sim might be worth something if it wasnt subject to the same faults as GRB plus you have copy paste mixed with freindly fire

Well not for tanks it isn’t.

That’s not going far, that should be a minimum requirement.

By “accessibility” I mean that there are players with medical conditions that make it impossible for them to play with such visual effects in place (or at least highly uncomfortable). That is why I’m in favour of its inclusion but only as an option you can toggle.

Also because we’re talking about purely visual effects, not difficulty, such as the mission-kill sytem you propose here:

I recommend taking a look at the rules set up by the War Thunder Ultrasim community for their historical events, they’re very cool, and similar to your suggestion in some respects but different in others.

AHAHAHAH

No, they arent doing that because they arent complete idiots.
