Ground rb RP increases

In my opinion, the Research Point (RP) system in War Thunder’s Ground RB mode needs to be made easier, especially for higher-tier vehicles. I recently had a match where I got six kills, multiple assists, and played with a premium account, yet I only earned around 9,000 RP. Considering that top-tier vehicles require over 400,000 RP to unlock, the current grind feels excessive, even for skilled players. The balance between effort and reward needs improvement to make progression more reasonable without forcing players to rely on excessive grinding or spending money.

ground rb reward are very shit and gaijin who dont play the game wont change it anytime soon, hell they would nerf it

That’s a great amount of RP for 6 frags.
Of course if ground RP goes up air RP needs to go up by the same exact amount.

Considering the amount of ~9 000 research points per match poster got with 6 kills, which is a good number per match, he’ll need ~44 matches with minimum of 9 000 research points to get to the 400 000 research points, the research points only comes in a good amount if you have a fully spaded vehicle, since 2/3 of the rewards is converted into modification research. This cycle never ends. Obviously you have to do the same in all branches but in ground vehicles this is more visible due to the amount of vehicles.

No, they are not converted. They both happen at the same time, there is nothing “subtracted” from the RP that goes to the researched vehicle.

Oh definitely.
It will take a while. On average it takes ~120 battle hours to get 2 top vehicles, which equates up to over 500 battles.

That goes for air and ground.

And yeah, nothing is subtracted, only added.
For every battle you get 110%+ RP into the next vehicle, then 100% RP into mods, and 100% of RP into universal RP.

All I say to players is play what you love cause you’ll be playing that vehicle for a long time, even after you complete the game.

There are people with thousands of battles in vehicles.

I went back to check in more detail, and I deleted my comment because I was wrong. My perception of time is messed up, hahah.

It didn’t take me 3 months to get ZTZ-99A; but merely 42 days, or less than 1.5 months.

That means the grind is not currently as bad as I initially thought.

I am mature enough to know when to correct myself, hahah.

That being said, my point still somewhat stands; I could only go this fast because I had Premium Account, Two Premium top tier tanks and a Talisman Event top tier tank with a near infinite amount of backups… without all of this, I would probably still be stuck on Rank IV.

Personally, I do not find feasible to grind trees without Premium accounts and vehicles.

Took me 3 months ish to get to 11.7 and i only have 1 11.7 vehicle

Due to Gaijin made the Battle of time directly connect with RP, if you got 5 kill ends in 5mins, you will get less than 2 kills in 10 mins

ARB is already MUCH MUCH faster to grind than grb

For you and your difference in skill between air and ground.*

Mathematically they’re identical*. [*PVP tasks only.]
If you take an average 1:1 KDR match of air, and 3 spawn 1:1 KDR match of ground. Ground will be ever so slightly faster than air.
Air has slightly more PVE options, other than that they’re identical.

If air RB had a spawning system, its rewards would be nerfed per action to result in the same rewards it has now.

So from my understanding, having ground rewards be tied to match time is kind of hurtful?

While it slightly “Encourages” people to maybe stick around longer than 1 death, it also mean’s spawn camping and killing your enemies quickly hurts your rewards a lot more.

An example of this is top tier usa ground. The amount of ODL’s is frequent and ends up with matches ending in mere minutes. Making all players receive far less and making the grind worse.
Doesn’t matter if your the best or worst player.

While In air rb, your rewards are better controlled by the player and objective’s instead of your team, making good player’s actually receive good rewards and have a manageable grind while staying longer.

Think making ground rb more skill based help with the grind?

You know that most of RP come from time in battle?
And second is the point capture?
Kills is just a bonus.

Yesterday I managed to find an opportunity to farm some extra rp and lucky enough to have a teammate who was also into it, I found the last enemy who was afk in his heavy tank and instead of killing it right away, I spam mg bullets on it and the teammates who saw it also do the same, we do it for a few minutes of barrel track torture and only wish there is more time lol

All modes RP goes up as the match goes on.
Ground RB and air RB are the same in that regard.

I don’t exactly agree.

Gaijin has made numerous changes (and refused to make other positive ones) that reduce the time spent in a battle (and reducing individual skill as well) by making 16v16 the default and adding air spawn maps to jet tiers.
