Ground map sizes

The map design and map size of most ground maps are terrible. Giajin needs to make the small maps bigger and stop trying to make Ground RB Call Of Duty. This is a tank mode, tanks have differing armor and fire power that makes them get played different, and it’s the same thing with maps, some are different and need a different plan of attack. Tank battles in real life use tactics and team playing, not running headfirst into the enemy like the Russian tanks in WW2. Spawn camping is a huge problem in Ground RB because the maps are to freaking small, you spawn in, drive down the street and the enemy is right there. So please make the maps like Advance to the rien, Frozen pass and American desert bigger, and make remove Mozdok for the sanity of ground players. What do you think players.

Unfortunately, the average player has the attention span of a goldfish, and anytime a bigger map is added, complaints ensue of “I drive for 5+ minutes, see nobody, and get sniped from halfway across the map, WTF?!”

Even though by as early as 4.7 every nation packs many long 75/76mm guns in excess which were built to engage at 1.5km away. With every BR increase it only gets more ridiculous.

Content creators and their hordes prefer small maps because they can shit out more videos like this, can’t be helped

Have you tried switching to CoD instead? fast paced and small maps.

To OP has actually made a very good argument, some tanks were designed to be hull down defensive and some designed to make pushes with support. So smaller maps have and will always favour those with short reliable reloads ( autoloaders mainly due to crew loss not reducing reload ) and tanks that are moderatly protected on the hull aswell as turret.

Name a good large map that Gaijin have made.

You know, a map with well thought out engagement areas and spawn zones that can’t be camped from 1.5k away?

I do want large range maps - a LOT. Just keep it out of lower tiers so that the Pz.IV C and T-28-38 don’t suffer too much. Some tanks will alway benifit from range and shouldn’t be handicapped though. I feel so bad when I kill a dicker max on North Holland.

This is the mind of the average War Thunder player nowadays btw, this is what they actually think and believe because youtubers encouraged it

Is it an action game? Most of the time, it’s click on the “To Battle” button game. Although you don’t focus on top-tier as seen by your profile so it makes sense that you like to brawl with kids rather than actual “realistic tank gameplay”.

Anything above 9.0 requires larger maps. Current maps are fine as is for anything below that imo. Extending the spawn area further back would help modern SAM systems too.

There is a poll as well

but acc to Mr BWD the players don’t want big maps at top tier, silly! /s

Well…you are farming xp after all 😎

Why…does this exist for top tier…screw that…im not playing this so I left, prefer a 8min crew lock.

As I said numerous times before. Most of maps are made without any tactical value in mind thus making them smaller and with restricted movement. Also map sizes are basically infantry maps sizes with infantry ranges, not tank maps.

But unfortuinately this wont change.

The best attempt would Maginot Line. Open area for long range fight, town for CoD and center as a mix of both. Only the spawns suck hard, but defenseless spawn areas is Gaijin’s modus operandi so it’s not going to change…

Fact: Rhine is bigger than Red Desert in designs. Red Desert is one stage of combat then you face that plain in front of spawn.

Anyways Fulda Plus Pro Max when

so get into the zone where you get closer to engage and while driving use braincells to hop from cover to cover instead of pressing W and going in a straight line through the most flat terrain you have?
