Because M247 is the best SPAAG in the game hands down, as it has access to HE-VT rounds that are also tracer-less, so dodging them on purpose is impossible.

Unless you see the M247 before it starts firing, you’re dead, not the same with Gepard or PGZ as neither have access to HEVT munitions.
Every vehicle has its strengths.
PGZ09’s AHEAD ammo is tracerless and airburst.

Requires ranging and can be easily avoided simply by flying fast or turning
M247, Gepard, And PGZ09 are all equally potent playforms imo, with strengths in different areas.
If we really want to change the br of something, let it be the Italian boxes, they are sad.

Which is done seamlessly even in IRST mode
So can HE-VT, and much like the M247’s ammo they don’t have tracers so you don’t have a bright fat line (gepard and friends) telling you to start dodging.

Although i do think HEVT is a lot better than AHEAD in functionality (atleast how currently implemented)
I just think that these 3 platforms all warrant the same br, each has its pros and cons
They’re all relatively good at AT, with Gepard probably being the best of the batch in that regard.
M247 is the most armored, and can sometimes survive shots at the hull.
PGZ is good at AT but cant do CQC since it has almost no depression, making hulls (notably T-55) hard to hit, rendering it useless.
M247 and PGZ09 are the best at anti air, although M247 is objectively better due to HE-VT, while PGZ09 has a finnicky AHEAD that doesn’t like to work at certain angles. Gepard is good although it has tracers on all of its belts.
These 3 are probably a lot better off than Other nations spaa of the same br.

It is. Mostly because AHEAD damage is very unreliable.

Type 87 is identical to gepard but with a better search radar and IRST tracking at the same BR.
However, this doesn’t help it since the 35s SUCK and the way radar tracking works in WT, the radar is only useful if your target is flying completely straight and at a constant speed, and of course you have to hit them directly with cannons that have half the RPM of a regular machinegun.
I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with the Gepard and friends and don’t get how people think that piece of shit belongs at 9.0. The only reason people think they’re good is because they’re bad at the game.

Waste of time. They’ve shown time and time again how hesitant they are when it comes to uptiering premiums.
It should be even better in ARB since now it can 1 bomb all bases and in GRB having 2 bombs with a 70m killzone on a plane that can rearm this fast is very good. The 6.0 matchmaker can take a bit long when queueing up with bombers so it’s not the best grinder but as CAS it can be used up until 7.0.
funny that the gepard is the most complained about, when theres variants in other trees seem to be better

I wasn’t even considering air rb, I was thinking Ground RB and air/ground Sim. I love using the 2500kg on the He 111 H16, and having two of them on a much faster plane sounds like a dream.
Its the most common, therefore most complained about.

the chinese one gets ahead which can be more useful against helicopters and the type 87 gets laser warning. I will admit I don’t have any gepard so I don’t know what the normal gepard gets over them
It drives faster. That’s it.
it is still far more effective than the regular rounds, as most planes are not going to notice it so they wont be actively trying to avoid it, it is also incredebly effective agaisnt helicopters, where the regular rounds does pretty bad

The south africsn is wayyy better as well.
It has the best mobility and makes it a menace as a tank destroyer.
Honestly from all variants the gepards is pretty mid overall. Since all others are better in some capability.
