Have you ever used the AHEAD round?
It literally only works if the target is flying towards you, if they fly away or even tangent to you good luck doing anything to them, AHEAD is certainly not as good as HE-VT
Literally just not true, AHEAD has 40 ish mm of pen and no explosive and if youre smart youre taking the AHEAD and the 40 rounds of APDS so it doesnt matter if your APHE has 10mm extra pen than other 35mm APHE cause you wont be using it
Wrong, the damage range of AHEAD is a fan while HE-VT is a circle, they have essential differences and the explosion range of HEVT is significantly larger than AHEAD
Dont forget that ahead is not a proxy fuse round the fuse range is set when the round leaves the gun so if the target makes any course corrections they will 75% of the time not take damage, it can basically only shoot down targets flying in straight lines
Ok, so you clearly don’t understand how either of the rounds work. you’re enirely wrong.
The XM822 detonates and all of the preformed fragments eject in a ring, there is almost no parallel fragmentation.
AHEAD rounds have their fragments at the front of the round and eject in a cone.
Apart from that they both use pre-formed tungsten fragments.
You clearly don’t understand what I’m saying
He either is trolling or is just an idiot. Either way, no need to pay any attention to him.
Maybe you should look up the definitons of “fan” and “circle” so you don’t automatically sound like an ignoramus.
I have a question about all these AA systems. Is it possible that Gaijin modeled them all the same, regardless of whether they were better or worse?
I’m asking this because of the difference in years between the models. For example, the Gepard is from 1976, while the Cheftain Marksman is from around 1990, which indicates that the Marksman system should have been significantly superior to the initial Gaepard model, as it would have used much more precise radar and tracking systems, in addition to more modern munitions, especially the Laopard 2 Marksman, which is from 2016.
not the case realy doesnt indicate the parts and their capability used, you arent considering upgrades their over service life either. The fact is that the marksman was very limited in number and might not have been as much developed as the gepard.
The german gepard has the gepard1a2 model which is from 1997-2000 apparantly and is missing the upgraded ammo FAPDS specialy. The marksman and so on just are copies that never took of
that one specialy is just a marksman integrated on a leo 2 chassis, nothing special
It has a slightly faster refresh rate on its radar compared to all other Marksman turrets since the Fins modified it. So it doesn’t do a lot but it is slightly better in the radar area. Still worse than the Gepards radar iirc.
What I’m referring to mainly is the shooting accuracy, because when I use the SPAA there are quite a few times that when shooting at the center of the radar point, you see that the entire burst of bullets stays behind the plane, when only a few bullets should hit, which leaves me in doubt if all SPAA with radar have the same flaw and gaijin did not model them correctly, or if each of the SPAA has better or worse accuracy when calculating the trajectory of the enemy plane. That’s why I said that since the Marksman is quite a few years more modern than the first gepard, it would have better tracking accuracy in reality. For example, in several places I read that the marksman had a hit rate of more than 50%, which should reflect that in a burst of 50 bullets, if the enemy plane does not make any sharp turns, they should hit around half of the shots.
yeah, thats just gajin systems being bad, you can try the new spaa hud and shoot with that.
Maybe its better, but optical tracking of IFVs being more accurate then the radar tracking is kinda ridiculous
not the case, like phoenix said their radars are still worse then gepards
New SPAA hud is broken for guns, it doesn’t lead far ahead enough to hit anything that isnt going straight towards you, theres a bug report up for it so id advise against using that system until its fixed or maybe its intentional from the snail.
ITPSV 90 Leo Marksman
Gepard
well gotta wait for that then
- Time doesn’t indicate performance, 2. If they perform a similar role without much iteration of weaponary or ammunition, it is unlikely for them to change in performance, e.g., PGZ-09 despite having a better radar, AHEAD and Thermals is not that much superior to Gepard, to that extent that it should only be max 0.4 BR up, when there is also a 2009-1976 = 32 year difference.
The computer doesn’t consider the acceleration of target, you need to manually adjust for it. Generally, it is advisable to use third-person or gunner/commander view to engage targets, not the new interface (which is primarily suitable for fire-and-forget missile systems). That is, you can’t just lock on, fire at the green circle, and expect to hit the target. This has always been the case.
Nah youre wrong.
I use the arrow keys to guide my bullpups while flying with the mouse, i dont make major corrections, but against SPAA i come in from as high as i can, this way i only need to make slight adjustments to my plane to throw off their stream of fire, and i can pull off earlier and stop guiding
knowing the agm will land more accurately than if i had fired it side on or at an angle. I think you need to learn how to use them
No offece, you told him “have you ever even used an agm-12” i checked your profile, and :
You seem to be a decent cas player, however unless i missed something you have used no agm12 carrier on the first 2 pages of your service record for air vehicles with “ground targers destroyed” selected. These could be ground targets in arb but ill give you the benefit of the doubt and well say its in grb.
The only vehicle on the first 2 pages is the FJ4b VMF, and im astonished you only have 43 ground kills in it. I wish i had it purely to carry 5 bullpups. So in reality i dont think its wise to talk about a weapon system which you have no experience in, especially when the person you are having a discord with provides evidence and, has 3 bullpup carriers on their profile on the first page, (aircraft, ground targets destroyed selected, same as with your service record screenshot.)
The best way to deal with these planes, is to find some cover, if you are going to “fight them head on” get a lock on them, deploy 2 sets of smoke and keep moving back and forth in your smoke while firing at them in bursts. It makes it extremely difficult to land the bullpup accurately, and your radar lock maintains through the smoke, giving you an advantage over them in the engagement
