G.91 BRs don't make sense in ARB and NRB

Played the prototype one recently and while not a large amount, it felt decent at everything besides firepower taking a little longer to kill someone with shots than the average plane.

Y should stay where it’s at in my opinion. It turns worse at medium speeds but way better acceleration and climb

YS definitely deserves same rating as base y, 2 aim9b upgrade from 2 nord but same engine isn’t enough to make it too good for its rating

The machine gun equipped ones have 4 while the aden equipped ones only have 2, so I think the firepower is close enough to be considered a huge factor in all of this

I’m more for just making the premium r4 one 9 even if it’s a little subpar there rather than moving the prototype and no missile 8.7 ones down. If I remember right some of those no 9b ones can carry 2 aa20, but at the same time that requires removing some your cannons, which truly is a sidegrade loadout

Y and YS are perfectly fine, the new engines they received give them a lot of energy to play with. The problem is the BR of the tech tree G.91Rs and Pre-serie.

MiG-15 and F-86A-5 are 8.0 RB; MiG-15Bis and F-86F-25/30/35 are 8.3.

G.91R/1 with four .50s is… 8.7?? Pre-serie is 8.3?? R/3 I can almost see the argument for, but it’s not like two DEFAs are unheard of for this BR. Not when seemingly all the british options around here have two or four ADENs.

R/4s are just fine where they are. The issue is the non-missile equipped R models also being 8.7, one step above 15Bis and F Sabres for no apparent reason. They even have two less guns, with the same ammo per gun as the Sabres.

And nobody’s seriously using the Nords for air to air.

Ive used AGM-12s in A2A a few times, not to kill a target, but trick them into thinking ive fired a missile at them and then they try to kinematically defend, which then puts them into a weakspot for either an actual missile or guns.

I guess you could do the same with Nords

What you said was mostly my point, the no missile ones should not be the same rating. If the stat graph website is to be trusted, it seems the R ones have much less of a performance increase from the prototype one than I thought lol. I assumed it was like the f86 and mig’s from 8.0->8.3 that get a noticable engine boost.

So sure, leave the 4 missile one at 8.7. However I still think the prototype one is somewhat competent at 8.3 cause unlike the migs it can actually roll, while still being pretty fast and good at turning. Wouldn’t be the most broken thing ever if it was lowered in rating though, so whatever works

But doing that in a G.91 requires you to give up half of your guns. So it’s definitely not worth it.

MiG-15 has the highest climb rate and best sustained turn. If it’s not compressing, it also either matches or outturns the G.91.
F-86A also rolls great, has the best guns here, the only downside being a weak engine below 800kph.

The G.91 pre-serie and missile-less Rs would fit perfectly between these.

Also, from my experience spading the R2Y2 V3 recently: 8.0 Air RB players are pretty clueless, so just about anything that can do fighter things will feel much better than it actually is. I was getting way too many kills for such a bad plane.

That’s just how that BR range is, it’s extremely compressed. But if the Sabres and MiG-15 are gonna be 8.0, so should the gunfighter G.91s. If one stays at 8.3, so should the other two.

Late reply (curse the active system), all NF BR’s should be revised for aircraft an it’s imho that 90% of the current split BR’s are pointless for NF as naval AA can intercept some fast aircraft as per playing customs be it your AI ship AA, you comtrolling said AA let alone being assisted by radar/ fire directors with HA HAA cannons & that’s before mentioning SAM’s.

I believe that 95% of aircraft should see a 1.0 BR decrease in the mode with the 5% being those with heavy guided munitions remaining high enough eg: F-117, Yak-130, A-4, yet those should be allowed at the very top BR (as seen by the Yak-130 so far) as this is where SAM armed ships come into play with most being able to intercept long before the aircraft has lock range.

The G.91 pre-series should be its own BR of ARB but could be even lower as as naval AA especially when controlled by the player is effective against all current threats, allow with all other options like spawning your own interceptors.

This Is further driven home by the edition of the recent strategic bombers which the B-52H carries far more amounts of bombs while being 200kmph slower than a G.91 & from memory two 500lb bombs ain’t enough for even a 8.0 ship.

Not even going to get into AGM’s since they’re only effective against a destroyer or small cruisers, yet at this BR they ain’t often enough to warrant bringing if you could spawn them in (reason most of the 9.3 restrictions apparently exist, yet is just dumb as seen by the players I’ve spoken to in the past).

Let alone SP Cost if they remain a concern

This is what I was trying to say for the YS.

I am saying the pre-serie and R/1 should both be 8.3, the flight performance of them both is nearly identical. Maybe the R/3 could also be here in ARB if the DEFAs are a sidegrade as people are suggesting. There is no bomber besides the 7.3 Arado that would be affected by the nord slingers being moved down to 8.3

No buddy. Simply revert the MiG15/17 and F86/CL13 downtiers and the problem is solved. Stop ACTIVELY ADVOCATING FOR BR COMPRESSION.

But obviously the Sabres and MiG-15s, played by thousands of noobs, will not go up.

Agree with you somewhat. As controversial as it is, if the two largest and most played air countries by far statistics wise get to have compressed/“overpowered” vehicles, I wouldn’t mind the others of other countries that should have bene lowered being lowered as it doesn’t change much.

Like yes, the overpowered stuff should be raised in rating, but clearly the devs won’t always do that for who knows why.

It changes a lot? It now means 7.0-8.0 is unplayable rather than 50% unplayable

Understand your point but it’s not uncommon USA can fill an entire team on their own, they have tons of players. Especially at this rating it’s almost always a majority us, germany, and russia, which all get mig 15’s and f86s. To me that seems more than 50%.

There aren’t nearly as many italy g91, j29, mystere, swift, or any of those. The usa ussr and germany planes were already the most popular before they were even lowered in rating, so I don’t have issue with lowering the lesser played ones too.

You think there would be suddenly as many G.91s flying around as there are MiG-15s and F-86As? Italy has a very small playerbase. Even with Germany, currently the G.91 R/3 is played half as often as the (german) MiG-15bis. G.91 pre-serie and R/1 are basically a rounding error with 1/10th of the games each.

It would definitely drive short term numbers when people see the downtier happen but they would remain strong and probably retain popularity, you cant just do this with g91, you have to do venom, vampire, hunter, swift, etc

This topic is specifically about G.91s’ BRs. They’re also extremely similar to Sabre and MiG-15, while all those you mentioned just aren’t.

They are all in the same performance bracket to where lowering one tugs on the other.

Honestly I need to get around to posting a draft I’ve got on revised battle ratings & spawn costs for NF, I just need to fix some things here & there.

Naval aircraft options are limited, they shouldn’t go off GF systems an the recent change to that system which they ported over should just be removed entirely from NF as aircraft aren’t overly effective due to a magnitude of reasons.

It’s basically top BR GF but starting from 1.0 NF for aircraft, essentially how you must farm up points to spawn any aircraft just to go POOF the moment/ some time after you spawn by cheap SP SPAAG/SPHAAG/SAM’s yet in NF it can be the free player ships which you’re manually controlling the cannons, your ships own AI or even the AI bots themselves especially encounter fleet AI which was changed for the worse late last year & is a detriment to everything.
