i dont get why they did the profile pic changes and then defaulted to this, its like they wanted to stab you twice XD
or… hear us out, we just continue to use the “old” one still
they want you to use the tagging system, and i already cant find my own posts i just made using them, so i see this being a mess once more posts are made
I am genuinely not sure how to feel about any of these changes…
oh well you see, gaijin say it is simple, you have to go into your profie > change profile picture > mirror wt (it is either that or the letter one)… because of course it cant be actually good

i will never forgive the day they took my Ahego challenger 2 profile pic away from me on the forums :(
they cant even complain about that as it was the exact same photo they shared on their social media a few years ago

Can we also address that the forum uses a new trust system that effectivly gimps users
To get to trust level 3, in the last 100 days…
- Must have visited at least 50% of days
- Must have replied to at least 10 different non-PM topics
- Of topics created in the last 100 days, must have viewed 25% (capped at 500)
- Of posts created in the last 100 days, must have read 25% (capped at 20k)
- Must have received 20 likes, and given 30 likes.*
- Must not have received more than 5 spam or offensive flags (with unique posts and unique users for each, confirmed by a moderator)
- Must not have been suspended or silenced in the last 6 months|
the fact of the matter is you cant even edit posts until you do the following:
- Visiting at least 15 days, not sequentially
- Casting at least 1 like
- Receiving at least 1 like
- Replying to at least 3 different topics
- Entering at least 20 topics
- Reading at least 100 posts
- Spend a total of 60 minutes reading posts
and even then your capped how much you can edit, for someone who makes suggestions this change is absolutely horrible

How long till TEC comes up with some random reason why this is actually “good” for us and that we should all be kneeling at gaijins feet for this due to how “great” it is

This forum change is perplexing. Not only did we not have a heads up, but they’re probably gonna make us transfer all of our old content onto this new and confusing layout. It’ll be interesting to see what the moderators will communicate over the next few days. We kind of deserve it at this point.
So, this is not good. The UI is confusing, the pageless system is not good. There is no easy way to find a specific topic, the colours do not work, we cannot react to posts with anything but a heart and I can’t figure out how to change anything about my profile.
Everything is just super cluttered and clunky.
This is 100x worse than the pfp change, as it messes up eveything about the forum, and there was 0 user input.
This feels less like a forum and more like a social media, like Reddit or Lemmy.

Wow! This is the worst forum format I’ve ever seen in the 40 years I’ve been doing internet things. It is so completely clear that Gaijin doesn’t do any sort of internal UAT or other usability reviews when they make these sorts of changes. Everything about this forum update is terrible. Absolutely terrible. Way to go, Gaijin! You’ve managed to out-Gaijin yourself! 10/10
