Forbid severely damaged targets from repairing on airfield

Forbid severely damaged aircraft from repairing. They’re severe damaged, why do some get forbid from repairing with a missing wingtip (critical hit) and some others can repair after getting severe damaged?

Do you think even minor damage can be repaired in ~30 seconds IRL?

I for one miss where just anything would repair and there was non of this subjective nonsense. Its just a game.

what are you talking about? precisely because it’s a game, which has a limit on what level of damage can you repair, SEVERE DAMAGE should be irrepairable. SEVERE DAMAGE should be more than a critical hit alas the target is on the verge of destruction.

Then what would be the point of landing anyway? Your post makes no sense.

No.

Landing a messed up plane is one of the most fun things you can do.

While it’s easier in RB than Sim, it does not change the fact that someone had demonstrated skill and earned it.

Confirm your kills. Aim for the canopy or the engine.

That’s not true!
You can repair even a dead counted plane.
You only have to be able to land it on af.

The only problem is the mess of damage categories. Some planes fly perfect with severe damage, others are unflyable with a hit.

If you successfully managed to fly all the way back to base and land with major damage. Then you’ve earned the right to be repaired in my book.

Spoiler

landed this a few days ago. Also managed to evade the F-4S who blew it off trying to finish off the kill multiple times.

Ok lemme just tell my missile to go for the pilot and not the engine

It is rare for an aircraft to survive a direct hit from a missile, and weren’t they working on missile damage to ensure that was a lot more common?

Typically where an aircraft manages to survive in my experience is from guns

At least the last time I limped an aircraft back to base was a tornado Gr4 which had part of its wing shot off by an F4S and the F4S failed to finish me off in that extremely damaged state. 3 times he tried, 3 times he failed

Forbid not repairing.

Precisely because it’s a game, it should reward player activity, and should never punish players when they have done nothing wrong.

My flankers has a word with u

I cant recall the last time I saw even a flanker take more than 1 missile to die.

Only exception is usually the Su-25

Severe damage is awarded for even tiny damage that I’ve still won dogfights and returned home with.

Only if severe damage actually becomes severe and not just a flap

In thrust we trust.

You should be rewarded for surviving and making it to base, not punished. There is a reward if you severely damage someone and they don’t survive or the tickets run down. I think it’s a lot better system than it used to be. Wasn’t there a few reports of a-10 warthogs getting severely damaged and surviving the same way?

The entire A-10 is designed to be severly damaged and still be able to RTB. But yes. I think it has been combat proven

That’s one of the many things that make them so cool, I believe the one pilot lost power of a whol engine from a direct hit and still made it back.
