They did it to themselves by not updating every tank’s armor model wholly to volumetric when they added the system. Many of the bugs stem from new shells not interacting right with the old armor models seen on a lot of machines even today.
There is no problem with SPAAGs being Ersatz TDs - if anything they help more than they harm. All the autocannon light tanks have a new thing to fear because of it. That being said, I would be in favor of increasing general SPAAG spawn cost to the same level the ZSU-57 is at.
But, when doing so:
un-nerf all remaining forced mixed belts on SPAAGs and some light tanks bearing the same guns
remove insultingly tiny 12 or 40-round limits on higher tier SPAAGs’ APFSDS or APDS rounds
Also it was apparently favored to use APDS rounds for AA duty due to higher velocity making less lead be required, both on rounds we have (35mm KDA) and ones we lack currently (APDS on the 20mm Vulcan).
Better still - have the base cost go up to ZSU-57 levels and stop pretending SPAAGs are mainly meant to kill planes already. People want to shoot tanks because its funny in the same way using overkill derp HE is. Current gameplay basically requires AAs be good at tankbusting to reach positions on the map relevant to intercepting CAS from, anyway.
Upping the base SP costs should however, come with the following two old nerfs being lifted:
Undoing the forced mixed belts for the handful of AA guns still having them (20mm German WW2 cannons, MK103 HVAP, Falcon APDS belt)
Removing the forced 12-round limit on the Otomatic and 40-round limits on 35mm Oerlikons for APFSDS and APDS, respectively.
Embrace the Ersatz TD mode instead of punishing it in any capacity. I will refuse to spawn an SPAAG if I can’t bring as much of the antitank ammo as I damn well please.
I have to admit that I’m confused by the definition of “unique” in this case.
Field mounts are no concern to us in WT because we only deal with vehicles.
Ships are a different matter but still we’re talking about a situation where no other vehicle that could possibly be featured in GRB would ever have access to those guns.
God I wish the rest of WT would just start following naval standards already.
Even tho it wouldnt (currently) find use to the game, its about the vehicle itself, as partial vehicles can be suggested and implemented if parts for it like hull or turret and such were build. However the guns arent counted towards the vehicle because they werent ONLY for the vehicle. I didnt do the rules, i was just told that by the suggestion mods.

Honestly i kinda like the Flakpanzer 341 but it’s OP it should go to 6.7 and have it’s turret armor be made out of actuall wood or have it nerfed some other way
