Fix the F-14b radar

Where’s that from?

Heatblur 😅, however the protected source they used they are apparently confident in.

Allegedly they got their hands on f14-aaa1 so I’d trust it more than nothing

Similar to the AI24 in that regard then.

Just putting it out there that the TWS is still randomly switching targets on us.

Also happens on f-16 MLU and probably every other TWS radar. Another issue is sidewinders getting slaved to the wrong target or just away of their FOV instead of the TWS selected target

Yeah but I’m pretty sure the R27ER tracks whatever target you’ve got TWS locked and carries over when you switch. The phoenixes are very volatile and will just stop tracking if the TWS track is gone for any amount of time so it severely effects the F-14 over other craft

You can’t launch the 27ER on TWS, so that does not affect it. The only problems I find is with phoenixes and fox2 slaving

I thought you needed a hard lock to launch, then could use TWS to update for a while then switch back to a hard lock for the impact phase

they recently removed that ability iirc

If they decide to implement this the F14B would would actually be interesting to fly, given they don’t don’t cite balancing factors 😂.

Can some forum maneager report this issues to the developers?
This happens today
My plataform is ps4

If you agree with that let give force to the ideia go in the future

Sorry but the day Gaijin takes that seriously and implements it is the day pigs fly.

It would make the F-14B unnotchable within 16ks~ which is limited further by render distance of planes. Defeating the missile itself becomes the only way of defense.

Well yes… thats kinda the point?

You are aware that even if the AWG-9 can no longer be notched or chaffed off, the Sparrow still can tho, right?

Cuz the AWG-9 is just the illuminator, the Sparrow has the receiver and guidance system to follow said illumination.

It wouldnt make the sparrow unnotcheable, it would make it much much harder to notch in a small cone infront of the F-14’s nose, itd actually be relatively compareable to the F-16/MiG-29/M2K radar at that point, but only under ideal conditions

Iirc the Sparrow’s notch gate is like 20m/s while top-tier MPRF radars have notch gates of 24-26m/s.

So it wouldn’t be particularly OP imo
